The Enola Holmes actor can play any role flawlessly and his mighty physique adds to his character, as he can get intimidating when needed. Ben Affleck Made Henry Cavill Insecure About His Physique

Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck were featured together in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016 and Justice League in 2017While it is debatable that the films were the best works in the SnyderVerse, one thing is for sure both actors played their roles flawlessly. Cavill looked like a Superman coming out straight from the DC comics, and Affleck divided the fandom with his underrated performance as Bruce Wayne/ Batman.

However, during a talk with Comic Book Movie, Henry Cavill shared how his meeting with Ben Affleck made him insecure about his physique. Before meeting his co-star, he believed to had the right physique to play the role of The Last Kryptonian but more than being impressed, he was intimidated.

“Like most things in life, you put yourself at a certain level, and I thought I was in good shape going into that film. Then I met Ben Affleck. What struck me first was how funny he was, but man was he ripped as well. I’ve never been the type of guy to get involved in any sort of macho one-upmanship, but I admit I was more than a bit intimidated.”

The Immortals actor added that Affleck was much bigger than he expected to and it looked as if he were a walking mountain.

“The guy is huge. I’m puny by comparison. He is much bigger than I expected, this huge presence and vast physicality. I had to step it up. When you see this mountain of a man walking around set, you think, ‘I’ve got to get to the gym… yesterday’.”

The results were evident in the 2016 film, as Affleck motivated Henry Cavill to hit the gym and bulk up, and become the best version of Superman.

The Tragic Fate of Henry Cavill’s Superman

The Witcher actor’s portrayal of Superman is considered to be the best among all the previous portrayals and fans believed that none can match that charisma. Even though he was considered the greatest actor ever to play the role in Snyder’s DCEU, his term came short. This was due to the 300 director’s constant experiment and changed the original traits of the characters which led to the failure of his DCEU.

Zack Snyder was replaced by James Gunn, and fans believed that Cavill’s time to shine as Superman was here, as he made a cameo at the end of Black Adam. However, his dedication and love for the role were disregarded as there was no place for him in the rebooted DCU, and he was replaced by David Corenswet.
