Canadian actor Stephen Amell recently opened up about the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, but like other actors, Amell isn’t in support of the strike. The actor called the strike myopic and a “reductive negotiating tactic.”
His statement has caused an uproar among his peers, and the actor is being criticized. This isn’t the first time the actor has been condemned on such accounts; previously, he made headlines for verbally assaulting his wife.
Stephen Amell is being criticized by his peers
The ongoing SAG-AFTRA is currently the major highlight of Hollywood. Many actors have also come out in support of the strike. But Stephen Amell isn’t one of them. The actor recently opined on the ongoing strike. The actor said that he does support his fellow actors, but he finds the strike frustrating. The actor called the strike “myopic” and a “reductive negotiating tactic.”
His comment has affected his peers severely. Many have called out the actor for his unsolicited comment. Amell’s co-stars have slammed him both directly and indirectly. Matt Letscher took to Twitter to address Amell’s opinion. He tweeted,
“Still waiting on that comprehensive list of totally non-reductive negotiating tactics we get to employ now. Thank god for superheroes! Any second now….“
Kirk Acevedo also slammed the actor. Acevedo blatantly commented on the Hollywood Reporter Tweet with Amell’s comments and stated, “this f–king guy.”
Looking at Amell’s list of controversies, it seems like he voluntarily jumps into them and garners people’s attention.
Stephen Amell seems to be addicted to controversies
This isn’t the first time Amell has become a topic of discussion. Previously, Amell got into a controversy where he was kicked off the airplane after arguing with his wife, Cassandra Jean Amell. During an interview, the actor admitted that he was too drunk when he boarded the flight. However, the actor explained that the whole incident had nothing to do with his wife. The actor said,
“I was pissed off about something else that had nothing to do with Cass, my wife, and I picked a fight. Just I picked a fight because I wanted to be loud and upset.”
The actor further explained that he and his wife got into an argument, and the whole scene created chaos on the flight, and the actor was asked to leave the flight.
