Everyone loves a good horror story. And apparently, Brad Pitt does too. The Hollywood actor, in fact, had no problem staying in a home that was supposedly declared haunted by Cassandra Peterson. Best known as Elvira: Mistress of the Dark, Peterson once recounted a tale of Pitt jumping in to buy her haunted house.
When someone tries to sell a supposedly haunted house, the road often isn’t easy. Most people shy away from such properties. But not Brad Pitt. The A-list actor was excited to live in a haunted mansion and saw all of Peterson’s paranormal experiences as more reason to buy the home.
Brad Pitt Bought A Haunted House From Elvira?
In a recent interview with People magazine, Cassandra Peterson opened up about selling her L.A. home to Brad Pitt in 1994 for $1.7 million. The house was recently sold by Pitt for $40 million. The actress explained that even though she warned Pitt about ghosts, he was even more excited to buy the house after hearing about her stories. She said:
“We were just kind of warning him that a lot of weird things have been going on there in the house since we moved in and he was very excited about that. He thought that was really cool.”
But what are the ghostly experiences that Peterson had? The actress detailed her paranormal encounters, saying,
“Things happen here. A series of phenomena have occurred that we don’t know how to explain…We saw a person floating around at the bottom of the pool… One time [a ghost was] sitting downstairs in front of the fireplace, once walking into my bedroom and back out.”
The Elvira actress then stated that even though it all sounds unbelievable, the incidents did happen. The star claims that she wasn’t high or hallucinating them. However, she or Pitt aren’t the only Hollywood celebrities to have experienced paranormal activity. Jennifer Aniston, the Bullet Train actor’s ex also shared such an incident.
Jennifer Aniston’s Spooky Paranormal Experience
In an interview on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Jennifer Aniston opened up about her own ghostly experiences when she moved to L.A for the first time. As per the FRIENDS star, she was staying in a rented apartment with her roommate when it all began. She said:
“All of a sudden things started to [happen]. This dishwasher would start to go, or the coffee maker would start to go, or the stereo would just turn on at full volume. And it was terrifying.”
So the actress brought someone to clean the house of those energies and made a startling discovery amid that session. Aniston said,
“They had frankincense, and they put it in a little dish and sort of started saying all these things. And the first corner that she went to, the dish cracked. When we got to the really thick, thick, thick 1975 ashtray that was sitting on the table, and then that cracked and she asked me to leave then I [really believed it].”
The spiritual person who cleansed her house said that the otherworldly entity hated her roommate. But instead of telling her roomie to move out because a ghost didn’t like her, it was Aniston who opted to leave. There’s no way to verify if all these claims are true, but they certainly make for great rainy-day stories.
