Gwyneth Paltrow was last seen in the iconic role of Pepper Potts in 2019 in Avengers: Endgame. Co-star Scarlett Johansson, who portrayed the character of Black Widow in the MCU seems to think that Pepper Potts will surely make a re-entry into the MCU once again.
In a podcast, Johansson and Gwyneth Paltrow sat down for a chat to talk about the good old MCU days. During the talks, Scarlett Johansson seemed to think that the Marvel Cinematic Universe will surely bring in Ms. Pepper Potts once again in a cameo that could possibly alter everything.
Will Gwyneth Paltrow Make A Return Into The MCU?
After Tony Stark’s death in Avengers: Endgame, his family, which included Pepper Potts and their daughter Morgan Stark, was left devastated. Although it was an emotional ending, we know that the Marvel Cinematic Universe doesn’t like to leave loose ends.
What we mean to say is that with the introduction of Morgan Stark, it seems that the family of Iron Man will be showcased in the future pretty significantly. It may be even possible that Morgan Stark may take on the role of her father and hence, Gwyneth Paltrow might once again portray the role of Pepper Potts in the future.
Although it isn’t confirmed, Scarlett Johansson and her MCU co-star Gwyneth Paltrow sat down for a chat on The Goop Podcast. When Scar Jo asked Paltrow whether she would return once again to the MCU, here’s what the Se7en actor had for a reply.
“I think so. I mean, I didn’t die so they can always ask me. Really? A 64-year-old Pepper Potts? How great.”
Scarlett Johansson replied that she was 100% positive by saying that “100% that’s happening. I can see it. They’re never gonna let you go. Break out that wig, baby.” Although fans would very much like that to happen, Gwyneth Paltrow feels that she would be down for a role but just a cameo and nothing more.
Gwyneth Paltrow Feels Too Old To Portray Pepper Potts
Furthering her talks, Paltrow stated that she feels too old to portray the role of Pepper Potts now. It was previously confirmed that Avengers: Endgame would be her final movie in the MCU but considering the crack in the multiverse in the MCU, she could potentially return for furthering the storyline.
“I mean, I’m a bit old to be in a suit and all that at this point. I feel very lucky that I did it because I actually got talked into it. I was friends with Jon Favreau. It was such a wonderful experience making the first ‘Iron Man’ and then to watch how important it has become to the fans.”
Alongside Pepper Potts, Scarlett Johansson also ended her MCU career with the 2021 movie Black Widow and did not look back. If Gwyneth Paltrow were to return somehow, then perhaps the Black Widow will probably be not far behind.
