Even decades after her death, Marilyn Monroe remains surrounded by numerous controversies and conspiracy theories. Ever since she passed away from a supposed drug overdose, her death has led to several conspiracies. After many books, films, and documentaries, The Godfather star revealed an insane reason why Marilyn Monroe lost her life.
Gianni Russo, known to have been in an on-and-off relationship with the Hollywood icon, claimed he knew the exact reason why The Misfits actress died a tragic death at the height of her career.
The Godfather Star Reveals The Real Reason Behind Marilyn Monroe’s Death
Gianni Russo’s life has been nothing short of an epic film. Perhaps if one was to make a movie about his life it would certainly go on to become more famous than his most famous film The Godfather. During his very eventful life, the star has brushed shoulders with many stars and crime bosses over his wild life. He claimed that at the age of 16, he had an affair with the then-33-year-old Marilyn Monroe.
In the events leading to her death, he revealed the actress was involved with the mob boss Frank Costello. The mob had been wanting to trap the famous Kennedy brothers and use it to blackmail JFK for invading Cuba and to get back the nation’s casinos.
“They wanted to film the Kennedys in a threesome with Marilyn”
However, Marilyn Monroe soon found out about the scheme and threatened to reveal it to the public. Her threat unfortunately led to her tragic death. Russo added,
“A guy known as The Doctor — a killer for hire and an actual MD; he had done major hits for the mob — injected air into the vein near Marilyn’s pubic region. She died of an embolism, but it looked like drugs to the coroner.”
And thus the star passed away in what was ruled by authorities as a probable suicide.

Gianni Russo Claims Kennedy Was Behind Marilyn Monroe’s Death
After revealing the tragic details of how the All About Eve star passed away, Gianni Russon further added that it wasn’t Frank Costello’s mob that was responsible for her death but rather Bobby Kennedy, the then-US Attorney General.
“It had to be Bobby. No one else would kill her. The mob would not have done it. They liked her. She was that party girl. Give her a couple pills, a couple drinks and she’ll f**k everyone.”
He claimed Bobby Kennedy feared if Monroe went public, everyone would get to know about his relationship with the troubled actress, which would have not been good for his career.
How much truth lies in his claims, we do not know, but the story sure does seem interesting and nothing short of a thriller movie.
