The Mad Max: Fury Road actor Tom Hardy has worked with enough A-list celebrities and directors in mind-bending and thrilling projects and has steadily established himself as a leading star in Hollywood. His excellent portrayal as John Fitzgerald in Leonardo Dicaprio starrer 2015 American action drama film The Revenant earned him a nomination for Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
Nevertheless, he once revealed that he despised riding a horse in the flick and claimed that he has a peculiar fear of getting kicked by the horse. When asked if he had ridden a horse before, the 45-year-old star told Variety,
“I don’t like horses. They scare me. There’s not a call for it in London — not since the 1800s. We are used to getting on the bus or the tube. I prefer dogs; they are a bit more manageable. I think horses are beautiful, but I didn’t know any growing up. It’s quite alien. They are so big and muscular.”
He continued,
“If they sat on me or kicked me, that would be it — wouldn’t it? You always hear about people walking around the back of a horse and getting kicked. I always think if anyone is going to get kicked by a horse walking around the back of it, it’s most likely going to be me.”
This incident made fans of the Venom movie star respect him even more, and this shows how great a character he has. Hardy often goes to extreme lengths to achieve perfection to play his parts effectively by overcoming the challenges and difficulties that emerge on the film set.

The actor recalled,
“He called me up and said, dude, I know you’re about to do something where you’re jumping out of helicopters and shooting guns and sh-t. But before you do that, I need you to take a look at this script. It’s f—ing awesome. That’s how it started—It’s going to be f—ing awesome. Then I had a meeting with Alejandro (film director), talking through the character. I ended up getting the job.”
Alejandro G. Iñárritu-directed The Revenant received positive reviews from the audience and grossed over $533 million at the global box office. The project boasts a star-studded ensemble cast featuring: Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy, Domhnall Gleeson, Will Poulter, Forrest Goodluck, and Paul Anderson, among others.
