Quentin Tarantino is one of the most respected and appreciated directors in Hollywood. He has worked on some of the most loved movies and is highly acknowledged for it. His moviemaking skills are never something that can be questioned because he releases one exceptional movie after another. With his extraordinary filmography, it is no doubt that he has a particular opinion about certain sets of movies.
Tarantino has not been someone who is afraid of sharing his own opinion. When it comes to making movies, he is regarded as someone who can be given as much creative control as possible to make the best possible outcome. One particular opinion of his created an uproar amongst the fans as well as various different celebrities.
Quentin Tarantino Is Not A Fan Of The Superhero Genre
Quentin Tarantino had stated quite a while back about how he wasn’t very fond of the way the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DC Universe were growing. He did not see superhero movies as worthy of being part of cinema. Tarantino believes that the current generation has disvalued the meaning of what a movie is and completely wasted the potential of what cinema can really be.
“I’m hopeful that we’re going through a woozy romantic period with the ease of digital,” he added. “I’m very hopeful that future generations will be much smarter than this generation and realise what they lost.”
According to him, cinema died the day movies weren’t being viewed on 35mm. He saw this as a more public display of movies and was not okay with it. He even added as to how because of this, the meaning and value of cinema seem to be lost in the end. Tarantino thinks that all these movies are not qualified enough to be worthy of cinema. He sees digital projections to be a threat to cinema and could ultimately undermine its value completely.
Quentin Tarantino Did Barbenheimer Too!
The excitement that fans had for watching both Barbie and Oppenheimer spread throughout the world. Celebrities and the public were in unison when the thrill was also just rising. Quentin Tarantino was also pulled into the midst of this as well. He was seen watching both movies, opting to see Oppenheimer before Barbie.
His comments on the death of cinema and how different things have gotten because of superhero movies have also led many stars to believe that they would not get an opportunity to work with him or would choose not to do so either. Even with his opinions, however, watching both Barbie and Oppenheimer would indicate that he was probably not all right.
