Will Smith on attending Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ wedding

Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith were happy with their simple wedding in 1997. However, the couple was stunned to see the extravagant wedding ceremony of Hollywood star Tom Cruise with Katie Holmes. After the wedding, the Bad Boys star and his wife decided to hold another wedding ceremony on their tenth anniversary and host a grand party.

Will Smith said,

“We had an OK wedding. We just came back from Tom and Katie‘s wedding. So, that made me realize we didn’t have a big wedding.

“They had a real wedding. It was just the most amazing, beautiful, wonderful, fairytale experience ever and I was just sitting beside Jada going, ‘Phew!’

“I hadn’t had too much success when we got married, so I couldn’t afford that. Ten years–we’re going to go back and do it again–renew the vows and all that.”

Tom Cruise got married to the beautiful actress Katie Holmes in 2006. They had a grand wedding ceremony and a party at a castle in Italy. Holmes and Cruise tied the knot in a Scientologist ceremony. Their daughter Suri was born the same year. The couple were together for almost seven years, before Holmes filed for divorce in 2012.

Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett’s wedding

Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett met for the first time on the sets of his NBC show The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Jada Pinkett had auditioned for the role of the actor’s girlfriend in the show but was rejected due to her height. Though she could not be his on-air girlfriend, romance started blooming in real life. After dating for some years, the couple tied the knot in 1997. They had a simple wedding at Cloisters Mansion near Jada’s hometown of Baltimore.

The pair welcomed their son Jaden in 1997 and daughter Willow in 2000. Jaden is a rapper and actor who has worked with his father as his on-screen son in The Pursuit of Happyness and After Earth. Willow is a musician and an actress who co-hosts the Red Table Talk show with her mother.
