Zendaya has made a name for herself in the Hollywood entertainment world. She began her acting career as a Disney star (in Shake It Up). And with the role of MJ in Tom Holland’s Spider-Man series, she achieved global stardom.
Along with achieving fame, the actress also managed to win over the affection of her co-star, and the two went on to become one of the cutest couples in town.
Yes, we are referring to Tom Holland. The pair share a special bond that has existed between them ever since they first met on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming. While working on this 2017 Marvel Superhero film, the actors got to know each other. Since then, the two have been spotted at red-carpet events and occasionally open up about their relationship on Instagram (via viral posts).
In 2017, fans began to question whether the two were more than just friends, but the co-stars have always made an effort to keep their love lives private.
Although their on-screen and off-screen romances are well known, Holland’s ideal casting in a Superhero film series was once highlighted by the actress.
Zendaya on Timothée Chalamet Taking Tom Holland’s Place
Zendaya, who is very confident in herself, has had a successful year at the box office in 2021. Thanks to the two films in which she co-starred alongside the most sought-after heartthrobs in Hollywood—Timothée Chalamet in Dune and Tom Holland in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Also, note that both of these films have received positive reviews.
While promoting Dune, Chalamett, and Zendaya were asked a series of questions regarding their casting choices. A journalist questioned how or where the Wonka actor might eventually fit into the Spider-Man universe. Could he ever take Holland’s place?
The American-French actor quickly confirmed before the actress could respond:
“Let’s say no, because man, Tom is perfect in that role. When I saw that, I was like, ‘They got the right guy.’”
Meanwhile, Zendaya even shared the same views as her Dune co-star, also adding:
“I think everybody was made for the role that they have. Like, you [Timothée Chalamet] are Paul, and he [Tom Holland] is Peter. Like, they just were meant for these moments and they both equally deserve these beautiful works of arts.”
Timothée Chalamet ‘Would Be a Good Friend of Spider-Man’
Even though Tom Holland won the role of Spider-Man‘s lead, Timothée Chalamet would still make a good choice for another one. At least, that is what co-stars, Zendaya and Holland appeared to believe.
Zendaya and Holland both agreed that Chalamet would make a superb antagonist for the film series in an interview with the Associated Press as the 26-year-old actress said:
“I think he [Timothée Chalamet] would be a good friend of Spider-Man. Or a foe of Spider-Man!”
Holland also added that Chalamet would work well as a particular kind of villain. To quote him:
“I think it would be good to bring him in as a [friend] and then he kind of becomes bad, and then he can be a villain.”
In addition to being Peter Parker’s enemy, Osborn would also vie with Zendaya’s MJ for her affection as The Crowded Room actor further added:
“Maybe he comes for MJ [Zendaya’s character and love interest for Holland’s Peter Parker] and I’m like, ‘Whoa, Harry! You better watch where you’re movin’ around my girl, bro!'”
For the unversed, Chalamet attended a Spider-Man: Homecoming audition back in 2015.
Anyway, things appeared to have been done for Chalamet in their own way. He will be seen with Zendaya once again this year in Dune: Part Two, which is the sequel to Dune (2021).
Dune: Part Two is slated for release on November 3, 2023.
