Marvel Shot Down a Drone to Prevent Secret Invasion Spoilers

During this interview, Samuel L. Jackson revealed that during the filming of Secret Invasion, eager fans would fly drones over the filming location in order to catch details. Jackson and Don Cheadle stated that Marvel ended up tracking the individuals down in order to prevent leaks and even shot one of these drones down. Cheadle joked about this situation, stating that Marvel didn’t end up showing these people pictures of their Marvel co-stars, Tom Holland and Mark Ruffalo, who are famously known for spoiling the movies they appear in.

“They shot one down,” Jackson says. “And they followed one back to where the dude was. They found him and, yeah, they got him.” followed by Don Cheadle quipping, “They didn’t just hold up a picture of Mark Ruffalo and Tom Holland and say, ‘Don’t be like these guys?'”

This is not something new as people tend to go to great lengths to profit from these projects. A similar incident involving a drone happened to the HBO series Game of Thrones as well. Marvel is also not dealing with leaks for the first time, having to deal with a much more serious situation during the filming of The Avengers.

Samuel L. Jackson’s Entire Script For The Avengers Was Leaked Online

Samuel L. Jackson went on to talk about how these drone incidents were not the worst of his experiences with leaks and spoilers. The actor revealed that right as he was about to start working on the Avengers, a copy of his version of the script with his watermark was put for sale online. As soon as this news reached Marvel, they came to Jackson at the shooting location in Canada in order to rectify the situation.

I remember when we got ready to do Avengers, someone printed out a copy of my Avengers script that had my watermark on it, and put it online for sale. I was shooting in Canada and Marvel came to Canada. It had been printed in the production office… They found out who it was, dude quit, left the country. They set up a fake buy for the script, dude didn’t show up. It was crazy.” he said.

The star stated that the person who was responsible for this printed the copy in the production office and quit his job after, leaving the country. After Marvel found out who the culprit was, they tried to set up a fake buy in order to catch him, but the individual did not show up to this meet.
