During the early shooting of Top Gun: Maverick, the actors would all hit the gym to maintain their physique. According to reports by Page Six, Ramirez and the team essentially bonded by pushing each other to their maximum limits while in the gym.

Talking about a little competition in the game, Danny Ramirez revealed that the actors would try to reach as early as possible to outperform their co-stars and showcase their bulky muscles.

“There was a lot of competition with the guys, since the beginning of filming when it came to working out. I think it’s just funny, being with a bunch of dudes just pushing each other to the limit at the gym. Every day we start showing up earlier and earlier to the gym…it just brought cohesion to the group. We all knew abs were established in the first [film], so we had to take it to another level. So aesthetically I think we felt the need for the challenge.”

Their intense workout surely helped the movie since Top Gun: Maverick almost reached the $1.5 billion mark at the global box office. Being equally rated to its predecessor, Top Gun: Maverick became one of the best sequels to a classic film in Hollywood. The Tom Cruise starrer is currently available to stream on Paramount+.
