Johnny Depp is a magnificent star who was greatly wronged by Hollywood. His decades of extraordinary contributions to the film industry were rewarded with a humiliating and painful boycott over his ex-wife Amber Heard’s domestic abuse accusations. In 2018, Heard penned a bombshell op-ed for the Washington Post, which led Disney Studio to oust him from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.
But recently, a report claimed that Depp is still deeply hurt by Disney’s decision and that he has refused to go back to the franchise even though the film series is super lucrative and has earned him a great deal of money and fame. Amidst all this, another source has trashed these reports by calling them false and inaccurate.

While several reports claimed that Alice in Wonderland actor is still enraged over Disney studio for ousting him from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, as a source told Daily Mail,
“They blind dropped him even though Amber had lied her a** off. No matter how lucrative the offer, Depp would never agree to go back to the studio.”

“This is completely inaccurate and comes from an unreliable source. People are just making things up about Johnny at this point, trying to capitalize off the; anniversary of the trial to fill blank space for news.”
Earlier, the Pirates of the Caribbean film series producer Jerry Bruckheimer told Entertainment Tonight about the upcoming sequel in the franchise stating, “We’re all working on it [the next Pirates sequel]. We’ll see how it comes out. We’re very excited, I think we’re gonna have a great screenplay when, and we’re getting close.” When asked whether Johnny Depp, who played the iconic role of Captain Jack Sparrow in the first five films, would be returning to the franchise, he said,
“We’ll see. I would love it. I would love to have him in the movie – that’s all that I can tell you.”

Johnny Depp Explains the Reason for Disney’s Decision to Fire Him
In 2022, during his defamation case with Amber Heard, Johnny Depp revealed what led Disney to fire him from the franchise stating he wasn’t aware of the decision,
“I wasn’t aware of that, but it doesn’t surprise me. Two years had gone by of constant worldwide talk about me being this wife-beater. So I’m sure that Disney was trying to cut ties to be safe. The #MeToo movement was in full swing at that point.”
The actor continued,
“They didn’t remove my character from the rides. They didn’t stop selling dolls of Captain Jack Sparrow. They didn’t stop selling anything. They just didn’t want there to be something trailing behind me that they’d find.”
Recently, Johnny Depp appeared at Cannes Film Festival with his upcoming movie Jeanne du Barry premiere on May 16. Depp was teary-eyed and emotional as he received a seven-minute-long standing ovation following the premiers night.
