Bale had strict preferences that, he would consider the idea of suiting Batman again only if Christopher Nolan took charge of the director’s seat. However, things turned otherwise, and this could never come to fruition as the role of Batman in Flash fell to Ben Affleck. Yet fans have their own theories about this whole situation.

Christian Bale missed out on Batman’s performance in The Flash

Renowned for portraying the role of Batman in the Dark Knight trilogy, Christian Bale was apparently offered by Warner Bros. to appear in a cameo role in The Flash. However, the actor denied any such rumors and clarified that to get him back in the suit, Christopher Nolan must direct the film.

Bale always had the willingness to reunite with Nolan after years of wrapping up the film, but it never happened, as the actor explained that he was never approached by either Nolan or anyone else for the role. Bale clarified by saying,

“Nobody, nobody reaches out to me, or they keep me like a mushroom, keep me in the dark and feed me sh*t.”

The actor further explained that the only way to convince him for the role is by bringing Nolan to direct it. He said,

“For me, that would be a matter of Chris Nolan, if he ever decided to do it again, and if he chose to come my way again, then yeah, I would consider it because that was always our pact between each other is we would just stick to it. We said we would only ever make three. And then I said to myself, and I’d only ever make it with Chris.”

Bale appeared as Bruce Wayne/Batman in Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises. Looking at the craze for the Batman franchise among the fans, Warner Bros. decided to go for the fourth installment of the film and wanted to cast Bale as the lead protagonist.

However, Bale, who had already decided to go with the pact made by Nolan, turned down the offer, as Nolan never wanted an expansion to the Batman trilogy.
