Arguably one of the most famous characters from the world of superheroes after Superman and Batman is everyone’s friendly neighborhood Spider-Man from the pages of Marvel Comics. And through the years, stars like Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and most recently, Tom Holland have brought him into a new light, each bringing something better than their predecessors.
And with the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans were beyond elated to see this trio make an appearance side by side on-screen. But while they may possess different qualities and characteristics from one another, there’s one commonality that each one of them shares, even though they were each advised against it separately.

And making an impact with his young version of Peter Parker in the MCU, Tom Holland has followed in his predecessors’ footsteps to make the character the best of the best from the plethora of these superpowered beings. In the past, from the time Tobey Maguire started dating his on-screen Spider-Man co-star Kirsten Dunst in 2001, both the stars who donned the web slinger’s suit have followed the same trend. Andrew Garfield dated Emma Stone, who played Peter Parker’s on-screen love interest Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man, and now Holland, who started dating Zendaya playing MJ in the MCU. While they may have repeated history, it’s not like they were warned, in fact, both Garfield and the Uncharted star were warned by producer Amy Pascal not to do this. In the past, she said:
“I took Tom and Zendaya aside, separately, when we first cast them and gave them a lecture.Don’t go there — just don’t. Try not to. I gave the same advice to Andrew and Emma. It can just complicate things, you know? And they all ignored me,”
While both Maguire and Garfield broke up with their respective co-stars after a while, Holland and Zendaya are still going strong, and people hope that it stays that way forever and ever.
