Christian Bale stood out beautifully in a rather underwhelming movie. Thor: Love and Thunder might not have lived up to the expectations of the fans but Gorr the God Butcher most certainly did. If there wasn’t a lot that could attract fans to the theatres, it was most certainly Bale’s character that changed their minds. The way he gets into his roles is truly an exceptional sight to behold.
The actor is someone who is respected and loved by all those who have seen his movies. He is someone who will put in his all when it comes to a role to make sure there is no way his character lacks in front of an audience. Hence no matter who he would play there would be little to no possibility for his character to be disliked.
Christian Bale Stopped Working Out After Seeing Chris Hemsworth
Christian Bale has been seen making some of the most extraordinary physical transformations when it comes to the characters he plays. Whether it is to prepare for The Mechanist or for The Dark Knight Rises, he will lose no effort in order to give his best.
“There’s no point in working out at all because you can’t compete with Chris.”
During his training for Thor: Love and Thunder, he was just as ready to get into shape for the role of Gorr the God Butcher. When he saw the way Chris Hemsworth was training, he found it better to simply back off because there was no way he would be able to match up to him. He immediately knew that no matter how much he was planning on working out and building a body buff enough to stand bigger than Thor, Hemsworth would beat him to it. While the duo may have gone head to head on the screen, Bale knew there wasn’t a chance he could win a fight against the Extraction actor.
Christian Bale Needed Gorr The God Butcher’s Costume Changed
When Christian Bale was researching the character, Taika Waititi helped him out by giving him comics that included Gorr the God Butcher so he would be able to better understand his character. However, one thing he did not expect was the clothes he was wearing.
“I did have a look briefly and said, ‘He’s got a G-string on. Nobody wants to see me like that,” the actor remarked. “He was also crazy musclebound in the comics. And I was in the middle of making another film where I was really quite skinny. Dude, nobody wants to see me in a G-string.”
He was okay with not looking as buff as he did in the comics but he was not okay with wearing the clothes that he was. There were quite a few changes that were made when it comes to his costume and they all ended up being for the better.
