Currently, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations is airing. But it was Kishimoto who created the whole ninja world. Even though there are a lot of cool features in the ninja world, Kishimoto was hell-bent on not using a couple of technologies in the anime, even though several other anime were using them. He told everything about it during the 2015 New York Comic Con.

Masashi Kishimoto was asked if the Naruto world had means of communication, ways to watch videos, technologies, etc., which are not familiar to the samurai era. But there must be something that the creator was absolutely against from the beginning.

Kishimoto answered,” It would actually take too long to really go nitty-gritty into details, but for example: one of the things I focused on was that anything that’s NOT possible to recreate, or to do, using ninjustu, ninja skills, I would not develop for Naruto’s world. So no cars. Because they have shuriken, the throwing stars, there’s no guns either. So there were certain things I had clearly in my head that I didn’t want to have available in their worldview.”

Why Was Kishimoto Against The Use Of Technology In Naruto?

Masashi Kishimoto planned everything from the beginning. Even though Naruto belonged to a ninja world, it was adapted from the old Samurai-Era of Japan. There was no use of technology at that time. So Masashi Kishimoto wanted to make it authentic but with a modern touch. The communication method was done through letters and pigeons.

But he did not want to use cars and guns. He was against cars because ninjas have high stamina and durability. They can move faster on legs. As for the guns, there were shurikens, swords, ninjutsu, genjutsu, taijutsu, etc. He did not need any more weapons. Being a perfectionist, it was very well done by him.

Masashi Kishimoto is a legendary figure. It was his idea that gave birth to such iconic characters. We did see the use of cars and guns in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, but still, Naruto and Naruto Shippuden are much loved due to their authenticity.
