But according to the reports by Radar Online, the duo separated two years later, prompting the question – how was it for Atwell to work on a project with her former lover?

Alleging that Tom Cruise was too controlling, which led Atwell to break off the relationship, an insider told Radar Online that women find Cruise ‘way too intense’ making him the least eligible bachelor in Hollywood. However, despite it all, in her recent interview with ET Canada, Atwell could not help but send out a heartwarming message to Cruise.

During the interview, Atwell praised Tom Cruise’s work ethic and how there’s nothing the Top Gun actor cannot achieve. She said, “He’s a one-man studio. There is nothing this man doesn’t know about moviemaking and the cinematic experience for the audience.”

Furthermore, while citing how his commitment to his work inspires others around him, the Marvel’s Agent Carter actress added, “It’s deeply inspiring to find someone who is so committed to something, whose work ethic extends to so many different departments. For me, he remains a real inspiration as a professional, dedicated, enthusiastic guy, whose own success has never been his demise.”

Moreover, claiming that no one can ever come close to the world’s highest-paid actor, she described what makes Cruise different from others. She continued, “He’s always hungry, always searching, and has kind of a childlike wonder about movies … There’s never been anyone like him and never will be.”

Apart from this, Atwell delved into the intense action sequences featured in the highly anticipated sequel, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One.

Discussing her fearlessness while engaging in drifting cars and other perilous stunts, Hayley Atwell reflected on her experiences on the movie’s set. She expressed how watching the scenes objectively in sequence differed greatly from being actively involved in them. Expressing her astonishment with the stunts, Atwell observed,

“It’s strange, because watching it, I was going, ‘How did I? How did we?’ Because watching it objectively in sequence is a very different experience from when you’re in it.

Prior to principal photography, she dedicated five months to studying drifting, significantly enhancing her driving skills and competence. Furthermore, she also emphasized the challenges of translating a car chase sequence to a real city location, with its inherent obstacles and the necessity of ‘treating it respectfully.’

The Captain America: The First Avenger actress also highlighted the precise mechanics required in such situations, explaining, “If I was in fear, it would have been because we were in some way being reckless, and we weren’t.”
