“The worst experience I ever had”: After Hiding Her True Feelings from Keanu Reeves, Sandra Bullock Dated a Mystery Man Whose Intentions Were Not The Best

Sandra Bullock has solidified her position as America’s sweetheart with her mesmerizing performances that enchanted the fans. However, her own heart got possessed by her Speed co-star, Keanu Reeves which she revealed quite later in her career. But the duo has continued to be each other’s support system over the years.

However, many might be surprised to know that she dated a mysterious man, Don Padilla around the same time when she had a huge crush on her co-star.

Sandra Bullock, who is widely known for her pulling off different genres in Hollywood gained wider prominence for the first time with her movie, Speed where she starred opposite Keanu Reeves. The 1994 film was an immense success which pushed the duo’s acting careers.

After the breakthrough film, she quickly garnered public interest which definitely put her personal life in the limelight. In 1995, she attended the July premiere of her film, The Net alongside a mysterious guy, Don Padilla who was a film tech. He was the guy who probably helped her in getting through her past relationship. At the time when she was filming the 1996 film, A Time to Kill, she admitted to being in a casual relationship with someone for 10 months.

In an interview with Detour at the time via E! News, she talked about her then-unnamed guy as a “Really sweet person.”

However, the experience was not the best as she continued,

“It’s been rough because of all this that happened plus he’s working all the time and I rarely get to see him. But for a year I was by myself trying to date and I’m telling you dating was the worst experience I ever had. I seem to have attracted everyone whose intentions were not the best.”

However, meeting Reeves turned out to be one of the best things in her life as the duo continued to share a strong bond.

In 2018’s Wired’s The Web’s Most Searched Questions, Bullock sat down with her The Lost City co-star, Channing Tatum where one of the questions ended up revealing her true feelings for her co-star.

She replied at the time,

 “Yes. Big time. That’s common knowledge.” 

Not just that, but the same year, she revealed having a crush on Reeves during her appearance on The Ellen Show. She told host, Ellen DeGeneres how “sweet Keanu Reeves was” which was one of the things that led her to fall for him big time.

However, little did she know that the feelings were mutual as the John Wick actor later on revealed feeling likewise. But the duo remained great friends sharing a strong bond rather than getting indulged in a romantic relationship.
