The science-fiction series, “The Silent Sea” is already making a lot of noise. The fun part about this series lies in the fact that it is based on a futuristic world. The show took its inspiration from a short movie called “The Sea of Tranquility,” which was highly praised by the audience. This upcoming K-drama has a lot of fans waiting for its release on Netflix. Since then, fans have been enjoying the fact that they will have something to binge on during the holiday season! The entire series is dropping on 24 December 2021, and we can’t wait to see what it has in store for us!
When a series makes noise even before its release, we can tell that it has a fantastic cast that is backing it. “The Silent Sea” has some of the best stars. This includes the magical and charming Gong Yoo. There is no doubt over the success of this artist. He has won hearts through his role in some successful shows like “Seobok,” and “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God.” Other than this, the series also features Bae Doona and Lee Joon. Doona has previously worked in “Stranger” and “Kingdom,” which are both Netflix Originals. Joon, on the other hand, has worked in “Father is Strange” and “Woman with a Suitcase.” As we can see, this trio is undoubtedly set for success!
The plot of this show is going to be just as interesting as the cast. The story is set in the future, where Earth has become inhabitable. Due to desertification, there is barely any food and water left for consumption. The only solution is to retrieve a mysterious sample from an abandoned research station called Balhae Base. The catch is, this base is hidden on the moon, where the chance of their survival is fifty-fifty. The space agency nominates a team for this mission, Gong Yoo being one of the soldiers in it. All the other cast members are also scientists who accompany Gong Yoo in this mission to the Outer space.
Some of the leading characters in this show will include Han Yoon-Jae- the exploration leader, played by Gong Yoo. An astrobiologist, Doctor Song Ji-an, who will be enacted by Bae Doona, and Ryoo Tae-Seok, the engineer Captain who is brought to life by Lee Joon. Kim Jae-sun is a supporting character who is the chief of Resource Group of Aviation Administration, played by Heo Sung-Tae.
Is this mission worth the risk? Will the sample solve the problem of desertification? What kind of hiccups will this team face on their journey to the moon?
