When John Krasinski hopped in to have a conversation with Ellen DeGeneres, he was asked about his scary honeymoon experience. According to the Doctor Strange 2 actor, initially Emily Blunt didn’t want to go scuba diving due to her fear of sharks. But unfortunately, fate played a cruel hand as her worst fears came true and she had a close encounter with the predator of the seas.

The 43-year-old explained that their honeymoon turned wild when Emily Blunt had a very bad encounter with a Grey Reef Shark during their scuba diving. Describing the scarily huge shark, Krasinski joked- I know every shark looks like Jaws, but these really look like Jaws and they’re huge… and they swim very close.”

But suddenly as one of the sharks charged Blunt, Krasinski decided to not panic and act wisely so that the shark can’t get any chance to bite her. The Jack Ryan star was very wise to think that telling his wife about the shark would make her panic and more prone to any danger so he chose to “let it ride”.

“All of a sudden one broke off from the circle and started swimming behind us. I saw it and Emily didn’t. He started to charge Emily, so my decision was ‘If I spook her and she moves a lot, he might bite her.’”

As the shark passed close to the Sicario actress, she passed out in fear 100 feet deep in the ocean- “air bubbles came out, she kind of passed out underwater”. The situation was very scary for the duo but gladly, she was safe. John Krasinski added that later a sea turtle made Emily Blunt comfortable after that one hell of an experience.

Recently, Emily Blunt was spotted as Kitty Oppenheimer in Christopher Nolan’s atomic magnum opus. The 40-year-old actress was a part of the primary cast and featured as the wife of Cillian Murphy’s lead and titular character.

Interestingly, her husband also had a role in her casting for the movie. As revealed by her Oppenheimer co-star and real-life neighbor Matt Damon, Nolan didn’t want to visit Blunt’s house on the same day. He didn’t want to feel like that he was casting the entire cast from one building. But this is where John Krasinski entered the tale.

Emily Blunt stated that the Interstellar mastermind bumped into his husband at the elevator and couldn’t find a more golden opportunity. According to the Golden Globe-winning actress, Christopher Nolan said to her husband- I was about to come to you for the part, but I didn’t want it to be offensive, Oh, by the way, while you’re here, give this to your wife.”

While the Jungle Cruise actress was already fixed as Kitty Oppenheimer in Nolan’s mind, Krasinski’s presence ensured a seamless and swift casting without the slightest change in mind.
