This past decade has witnessed a revolution in the gaming industry as video-games have rapidly evolved to make gripping storylines a priority alongside a memorable playing experience. While many studios have been at the frontline of this revolution, Naughty Dog has been rivaling some of the major cinema studios with Uncharted and The Last of Us for their charismatic characters, engaging plot, and realistic graphics. And now, the studio house is eyeing a game based on Marvel’s The Punisher.

The massive popularity of both these video-games didn’t go unnoticed as Uncharted is being adapted for a live-action movie by Sony Pictures with Tom Holland, Antonio Banderas, and Mark Wahlberg starring. On the other hand, The Last of Us has been picked by HBO for a live-action series that will be directed by Beanpole director Kantemir Balagov.
Since its inception, Naughty Dog has always made its priority to create compelling and original storylines for its games. However, with Neil Druckmann, the newly appointed co-president of the studio house on board, Naughty Dog might be on its way to adapt a few popular franchises for a memorable gaming experience.

In a recent Tweet from IGN’s Greg Miller, Neil Druckmann has made fans hopeful as he listed his top five choices for a potential video-game development at Naughty Dog.
Replying to Greg Miller, Druckmann’s five choices are Marvel’s The Punisher and Ghostrider, followed by video-game classics Half Life and Hotline Miami, and the legendary anime series Cowboy Bebop.
While it’s unclear if Naughty Dog will ever adapt Druckmann’s top five choices, but a third-person shooter game based on The Punisher has the potential to become the next bestseller. A game based on a lone gunman set on a path of vengeance and armed with a nearly limitless arsenal is a stuff of dreams for gamers as well as fans of the Marvel character. Considering Naughty Dog‘s unprecedented success with mature themes paired with striking gameplay, case in point The Last of Us, there’s a recipe for success just waiting to be picked.
