Katee Sackhoff Defended Bo-Katan Kryze
Bo-Katan is known for her fierce warrior spirit and leadership for the Mandalorian people. She first appeared in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The controversy is surrounded by Bo-Katan’s affiliation with the terrorist organization known as the Death Watch. Despite being the sister of Duchess Satine Kryze, Bo-Katan ended up with rebels, which eventually resulted in the death of her sister. Fans have criticized Sackhoff’s character by labeling her a hypocrite. Now the Battlestar Galactica star has reverted to these allegations claiming that her character has made all her decisions by keeping in mind the welfare of the Mandalorian people.
“That’s an interpretation, absolutely. What I can say is that I think that Bo has never done anything that she didn’t think was in the best interest of her people. And I think by the time she realized the error of her ways, she paid the ultimate sacrifice and lost her sister.”
Katee Sackhoff On Bo-Katan’s Mistakes
The 24 star tried to cover up for her character’s past mistakes by stating that Bo-Katan was young and amateur, marking how the majority of people misinterpret her age. Katee Sackhoff continued by stating that her character was betrayed by someone whom she trusted and emphasized that her character is well aware of her mistakes.
“I think we also have to acknowledge the fact that she was very young in ‘Clone Wars.’ I know that people think that she was in her thirties, but she wasn’t. She was a shuffle ball change out of teen years, you know. She is very young, very impressionable. She followed somebody she thought she trusted who had similar ideologies and she was wrong. And I think she knows that. But I think it’s one of those things where the thing that you don’t like in others you point out, and the things that you don’t like about yourself, you point it out to another people. And I think that’s sort of what she is potentially doing.”
Katee Sackhoff did admit that her character’s deeds were wrong but justified her actions by her lack of experience. One thing surely stands out after Sackhoff’s statement is that she definitely admires her character and connects well with her. Katee Sackhoff is reprising her role in the currently running The Mandalorian 3, which is available on Disney+ along with the previous two seasons.
