James Gunn uploaded a video on his Twitter account where he stated the upcoming plans of the DCU. The announcement contained 10 projects which had 5 films and 5 TV series, and he was quite confident about the projects as he bashed Warner Bros. for giving projects to creators who don’t have a clear vision.
Due to this announcement, Jack Snyder’s vision and his idea of the Justice League would be put to rest, and fans are mourning the SnyderVerse which began back in 2013 with Man of Steel.
Why Did The SnyderVerse Fail?
The DCEU or the SnyderVerse began in 2013 when Zack Snyder directed Man of Steel. Zack Snyder had five film storylines that would have been created for the Man of Steel which would have led to Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, and three Justice League films.
The roadmap was clear but during 2013 Warner Bros. were in a rush and desperate enough to compete with the MCU, hence instead of taking their time to develop the film with a strong plot and gripping characters, they chose to plan their projects in haste, and that led to a series of disappointing films where the audience showed a mixed or negative response.
After getting negative responses from the critics as well as the fans for Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, Warner Bros. lost their faith in Zack Snyder and started interfering in his plans and visions. The Justice League film had numerous changes and it went under several rewrites.
Sadly, in 2017 Zack Snyder’s daughter committed suicide, and he had to leave the SnyderVerse behind, but he only returned to release Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Even though the fans showed a positive response to Zack Snyder’s Justice League, and used the hashtag #RestoretheSnyderVerse, it yielded no results as Warner Bros. and DC had no intentions of bringing back Zack Snyder’s DCEU.
How did the Fans React to The End of SnyderVerse?
Even though the SnyderVerse was full of obstacles and disappointing films, there were a lot of fans who loved Zack Snyder’s vision of the DCU, and it was heartwarming to see how much they loved his cut of Justice League, numerous fans showed their appreciation for the SnyderVerse on Twitter.
A fan expressed how the SnyderVerse was never going to work out from the beginning and only a handful of fans would have loved the darker version of DC.
Some people made fun of Zack Snyder’s fans as they were the ones who killed the SnyderVerse.
Another user expressed their joy for the end of the SnyderVerse.
Even though the Snyderverse lasted for only a decade, it had some good and bad films. However, this will not change the fact that Zack Snyder’s vision could have been better if Warner Bros. were not in a hurry to compete with the MCU. And fans of the Snyderverse must have faith in James Gunn’s vision for the DCU.
