Oftentimes there comes a film that starts making waves amongst the cine-goers with just a rumor of their production, let alone the release of the trailer or the film itself, and Barbie proved to be one of those films. With just the opening day, it became the highest opening film of the year with a whopping $70.5 Million box office collection on day one, and the film still has a long term remaining at the cinemas. After the Greta Gerwig directorial has been wowing fans from across the globe, Mattel and WB have decided to expand the film into a franchise and create a Barbie Cinematic Universe in the coming future. This means that we will be seeing a lot of Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie as Ken and Barbie respectively in the coming years.

Bringing an already popular entity into the mainstream media with the creative prowess of Greta Gerwig and performances from A-List stars from the Hollywood industry with an entertaining yet impactful story to tell, it’s no surprise that the film is the talk of the town at the moment.
