Ezra Miller’s upcoming The Flash movie has been the talk of the town for a long time. Rightfully so, as it is the first time this iconic superhero is getting a solo movie. With Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck returning to reprise their roles as Batman in the movie, fans are extremely excited. However, another reason the movie has been under scrutiny from the public is because of the movie’s main lead, Ezra Miller’s various controversies in the past couple of years.
As the reports about their various misconducts started to come out to the public, their The Flash co-stars have been asked about their time with them a lot. As Keaton is returning after 30 years to reprise his role and Affleck after Justice League, they have been the ones at the receiving end of these questions the most.
Ezra Miller’s public scandals
Miller has reportedly dealt with mental health issues dating back to their childhood. Unfortunately, they never received any proper treatment for it before according to them. It seemed to have worsened in the past few years as numerous reports of their public outbursts started coming to light in 2020. In April of the same year, Ezra Miller was seen throwing a woman up against a wall outside a bar in Iceland. Although they weren’t charged for it, such behavior, especially during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic sure took its toll on public opinion about them.
They remained pretty quiet after that and fortunately for them, they were drama free the entirety of 2021, during which, The Flash shooting took place. However, in 2022 they found themselves in trouble over and over again. Starting in March, when they got arrested in Hawaii for misconduct over a dispute with some karaoke singers whose loudness irritated them, according to the Hawaii Police department. Later that year, they got two restraining orders filed against them from two different people, with documents in the restraining order alleging them of robbery and threatening the potential victims.
In April of the same year, they were reportedly arrested for an altercation with an undisclosed woman. Later that year, they were also accused of burglary and even grooming, resulting in their public apology in August where they claimed that they are seeking treatment for their, “complex mental health issues.” As such, with these huge and continuous scandals piling up, it is no surprise that their co-stars from one of the biggest movies of 2023 are repeatedly asked to comment on their issues.
Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck are mum on Ezra Miller’s scandals
The Flash is reportedly based in the multiverse. Many actors, including Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck, are set to return to reprise their iconic Batman roles, resulting in the movie’s comparison with Spider-Man: No Way Home. Although the plot of the movie is still mostly unknown, the all-star cast has repeatedly been asked to elaborate on their roles. Another thing they have been asked is to comment on their co-star’s recent controversies.
As Keaton and Affleck are returning quite some time after to reprise their roles, they are the ones who had to face these questions the most. However, similar to the rest of the cast members, they are also being quite tight-lipped on this matter. The only time Keaton commented on his time with the cast at all was to mention how much “fun” he had there. And Ben Affleck‘s only response to the movie was his stamp of approval. As he said,
“You know what? That movie’s good, that movie’s really good, and it’s my best sh*t I’ve done as Batman, I’ve finally figured out how to play the guy.”

Things about the movie itself have been kept strictly under wraps with even the trailer just revealed during this year’s Superbowl. Now with the release date coming closer, it’ll be interesting to see if any of them have anything to add to this.
