The anticipation for DC’s upcoming movie, The Flash, is at an all-time high. With less than 10 days to the film’s release, fans just cannot contain their excitement. Most fans are hyped to see Michael Keaton’s Batman and Sasha Calle’s Supergirl. With all the controversies surrounding Ezra Miller, it seems like the excitement about them is pretty low.
Several media outlets have also reported that the script for the sequel to The Flash has already been written, even before the release of the first film. The Flash was written by Christina Hodson, who has also written Batgirl, Birds of Prey, and Bumblebee. The sequel was reportedly written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and the returning characters are confirmed.
A script for The Flash‘s sequel is already completed
It has been revealed by some sources that Warner Bros. already got their hands on a finished sequel script written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, who also wrote Aquaman (2018) and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023). Director Andy Muschietti recently acknowledged the rumors about the return of Michael Keaton’s Batman and Sasha Calle’s Supergirl in a potential sequel. He said,
“If [a sequel] happens, yes, I don’t think there’s anyone that can play that character as well as they did. The other depictions of the character are great, but this particular vision of the character, they just excelled in doing it. It feels like a character that was made for them.”
Reports suggest that Michael Keaton’s Batman and Sasha Calle’s Supergirl will 100% return in the sequel, however, the studios still haven’t confirmed it. One star that might not return is lead star Ezra Miller, as Muschietti isn’t a huge fan of the actor.
Ezra Miller has been keeping a low profile
Due to all the controversies that came up over the past 2 years, Ezra Miller has found themselves to be in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. Now, as per sources, the star will make an appearance at the film’s Los Angeles premiere on June 12, but will not give any interviews, and only pose for pictures.
A source close to Miller has explained that the star is ready to talk about the movie but not about his controversies. The source stated,
“Ezra wants the movie to open and the conversation to be about the movie and not about Ezra. They are focused on their mental health and don’t want it to be transactional.”
DC Studios received a lot of criticism for casting Ezra Miller as Flash despite their shocking controversies. However, many insiders are sure that this is their last performance as the Scarlet Speedster.
Will the movie meet the fans’ expectations?
There is no doubt that the hype for The Flash is wild. It is estimated that the movie will make roughly $75 million on the day of its release. Warners Bros’ decision to host only one premiere was because they want to create excitement for the “secret ending.” The test screenings that took place earlier this year had multiple parts missing, however, the final product is expected to satisfy the fans.
The Flash will hit the theatres on June 16th, 2023.
