After a long and arduous journey, the adventure of the DCEU comes to an end as the franchise stands still on its last legs with only one thing to offer, and that is the upcoming The Flash starring Ezra Miller and other stars who have been part of the franchise since the beginning. The film will be the last project undertaken by the old management at Warner Bros. Discovery and will officially mark the end of an era at DC Films.
And moving forward from here, CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran will rebuild an entirely new franchise from the ground up with new storylines and brand-new characters from DC Comics. But even though it seems like the former franchise will cease to exist, there’s a very good chance that a sequel might happen after the original Flash film, but only under one condition.
The Flash Has To Dominate The Box Office Like The Batman To Get A Sequel
The fact that the old DCEU is going extinct is due to the flavorless choices that the old management at Warner Bros. Discovery made that gave us some of the worst DC films that had great potential to become one of the best. But now, with the release of The Flash starring Ezra Miller being ever so close, the world is hoping for a proper send-off to the old franchise with the film as it seems to be heading for greatness. And if it does, then a sequel can be expected.

The hype that the trailers have managed to generate for the film is unlike anything we have seen from DC Films in a very long time, and it seems like this hype means a lot of critical and commercial success that might follow the release of the movie in cinemas in quick succession. But to be welcomed into the new franchise led by James Gunn and Peter Safran, the movie has to cross the box office record set by Robert Pattinson‘s The Batman, which is a very high bar to clear considering the film’s mammoth box office collection of $771 Million.
Reports have suggested that the sequel to the upcoming film has already been scripted, but as the DCU will now emerge with a clean slate, the script has been swept aside. Just like how the success of Matt Reeves’ film allowed for the sequel to come into the equation, the film will have to commercially impress Gunn to bring the film back for another adventure.

What To Expect From The Flash?
As the film nears its much-awaited release date, fans cannot wait to see what the upcoming film has in store for them. The Flash is set to follow the lore of DC Comics from the Flashpoint storyline where Barry Allen travels through different timelines and disrupts the flow of the natural order. Therefore, in order to save the multiverse from collapse, he has to take the help of several familiar and new faces while also facing familiar foes as well as new ones.
