Warner Bros’ The Flash starring Ezra Miller will soon hit theaters worldwide featuring a star-studded cast. Barry Allen’s story will involve time travel and reality-altering schemes that will open a portal to multiverses. Hence, familiar characters from other DC franchises will also join in the chaos.
As Miller returns to the franchise following last year’s arrest and rehabilitation, they will now be joined by two Batman actors, Michael Keaton, and Ben Affleck, alongside Supergirl’s Sasha Calle. With a pretty big budget of $250 million, fans hope the film to lives up to their expectations.
How Much Would Michael Keaton Earn From Playing Batman In The Flash?
As the worldwide premiere rolls in a few days, there is a lot of hype around Ezra Miller’s The Flash, as it is one of the last few remaining projects under the DCEU. Fans would remember that James Gunn and Peter Safran finally took their positions as head executives of the newly revamped DC Studios, which will bring the audiences rebooted franchises and fresh content.
Andy Muschietti, director of The Flash, spoke with ComicBook and talked about his idea to include Batman in the story:
“It’s basically time travel that includes the origin story, which is basically the mother and the father, and their accident. All of those elements were sort of attached to this thing. That’s why in my opinion, it was like you’re killing several birds with the same stone in a way. And, of course, time travel is always a good idea. Batman is always a good idea.”
Michael Keaton previously appeared as Batman in Tim Burton’s 1992 film Batman Returns. As a household name in the industry and a beloved recurring character, many fans are anticipating his appearance in the film, therefore his presence is already a selling point. That brings us to the question: how much did Keaton make from The Flash?
Keaton will be earning $2 million, while the movie’s lead star will take home $4 million. Michael Shannon, who portrays General Zod, will receive $1 million, and Sasha Calle will collect $500,000.
Did Michael Keaton’s Batman Save Ezra Miller’s The Flash Movie?
The nostalgic return of Michael Keaton as Batman and Ben Affleck’s cameo scene only ignited fans’ love for crossovers. DC has been playing with this trend for years, and finally, they were able to pull it off and push through with the release of The Flash, despite Miller’s legal issues.
The studio could not deny that this chaotic event during the early stages of the production has already marred the film’s reputation. From the trailers alone, fans could see how they tried to throw in as many Batman clips as possible. The effect of this action will be evident once the movie finally dashes into the big screens.
The whole Flashpoint plot used in the movie also serves as a denouement, as it allows the viewers, probably for the last time, to witness Miller portray Barry Allen and the rest of the cast play their respective roles before the DCEU chapter comes to a close.
The Flash arrives in theaters worldwide this June 16, 2023.
