The First Descendant’s Beta is Almost Here – is it Gonna be the Destiny Killer?

For many gamers who aren’t aware, The First Descendant is an upcoming free-to-play game which is looking to release later this year, and it is a third-person shooter that will have the player take control of a selected pre-created hero to battle all sorts of enemies that would try and destroy the world, and for those looking to see what The First Descendant is like and the good news is they are still taking applicants for their Beta.

The beta for The First Descendant is coming soon.

Once a player has signed up and chosen what platform they will be actively playing the Beta on, they will be happy to know that the Beta will be active from August 19th till August 25th, giving players plenty of time to experience all the game has to offer including, the different characters that will be available once the game launches, Attempt some missions either alone or with other players through crossplay, and players will also get the option to attempt raids throughout the Beta.

At the moment, we do not know if any progress that is made during the Beta will carry over onto the main game when it is released, hopefully later this year, but it is unlikely as players could get quite far in the story if allowed through the Beta, which will give them a lot less content to play through once the game releases properly.

There may also be changes to the game after the Beta once the developers take into consideration the feedback from the player base, as there may be changes in abilities that need to be corrected, they made need to edit how a mission or story is progressed as it may not work in a certain way, or it could just in general need improving entirely which would mean they will likely reset player progress once the Beta is over.

What will be available during the Beta?

From what we have been told, there is going to be a lot of content for players to take part in once they gain access to the Beta, as they will be able to jump into missions with their friends or on their own and be able to explore and battle the numerous enemies that are trying to destroy the world. There is also the opportunity to try out all of the different characters that will be available as, so far, there are already ten different characters that will be playable during the Beta, with a potential three to be seen extra, most likely in the completed version of the game.

Once players have had some time to familiarise themselves with the way The First Descendant is played and how the characters and story mould together, players will also be able to take part in raids with up to four players. These raids will be a major undertaking and will have numerous different mechanics and attacks that can cause a lot of stress for players as they have to learn and adapt to fight the Goliath-type enemies that will be waiting for them.

So far, The First Descendant is shaping up to be a major upcoming game that will be releasing this year, especially since it will be free-to-play from the start. Even though there is a lot of hype regarding this upcoming title, many have begun to call it a Destiny killer, which is putting The First Descendant on a high podium, to start with, and hopefully, it can meet up with player expectations, but for now, all we know is that it looks beautiful, will have a lot of locations to explore and we can test it out in a few days.

What do you think about The First Descendants? Will you be giving it a go when it properly releases later this year? Or will it be a missed opportunity for many gamers? Let us know in the comments what you think!
