Karl Urban claims that he relates to Billy Butcher
Karl Urban has claimed before that he has related to his character Billy Butcher in The Boys series since day 1 in an interview before. According to him, “it all comes back to the circumstances.” Urban has always been aware of his platform in society, which he uses to raise his voice and spread awareness.
Something that also aligns with his character in the series, although in a slightly different context, as he mentioned, “now he finds himself in a position where he’s having to be a paternal figure to her son. He just doesn’t have the skillset for it.”
Urban understands his responsibilities as a prominent public figure and strives to impact the world in a better way using it. Be it on gun control, immigration laws, or raising funds for those affected by the recent earthquake in Turkey and Syria. His hilarious response to Twitter’s verification policies just adds to it.
