Starting off his career with The Hunger Games franchise, Jack Quaid got his big break as Hughie Campbell in Amazon Prime’s action drama The Boys. He has since starred in a number of films, TV shows, and other projects and got the opportunity to work with Christopher Nolan in his upcoming war drama Oppenheimer. Based on the 2005 book American Prometheus, the film follows theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, who developed the first nuclear bomb.

Quaid stars alongside some of the iconic actors in the film, including Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr. During an appearance on the Bingeworthy podcast, he talked about working with the Interstellar director and shared that he had an incredible experience starring in the film.

Jack Quaid Talks About Starring in a Christopher Nolan Film

Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer is set to release in July and has been in talks for being one of the biggest movies of the year. The ensemble cast of the film features several Hollywood stars, including Cillian Murphy, Robert Doweny Jr., Florence Pugh, and Matt Damon, along with The Boys star Jack Quaid.

This is his first project with director Christopher Nolan, and he has shared that he had an incredible experience working on the film with the Inception director. The 31-year-old actor also shared that it was a great opportunity to see the great actors and the filmmaker do their thing and also to learn from them.

“Shooting that was such an incredible experience. Like, I’m like a blip in that movie, but it was just so incredible to sit there and watch true masters do what they do.”

He also shared that he is incredibly happy and grateful to have this opportunity and still can’t believe that he’s starring in a Christopher Nolan movie. He portrays theoretical physicist Richard Feynman who was also among the scientists working on the Manhattan Project.

Jack Quaid Was Starstruck By Christopher Nolan

During an interview with GQ, Jack Quaid shared that he was blown away by the movie’s set and the director’s work. “The way that he chooses to shoot scenes, he’s so absolutely confident in the way that he works,” the Plus One actor shared. He also stated that he was starstruck by the Dunkirk director.

I got kind of starstruck, especially when he would do the ‘director’s point,’ that framing thing [directors do] with their hands,” Quaid said. Talking about his character in Oppenheimer, he said that he researched scientist Richard Feynman, in order to prepare for his role. The film is set to release next month along with Greta Gerwig’s Barbie starring Margot Robbie, and both films are expected to have an intense box office battle.

Oppenheimer is set to release on July 21, 2023.
