Having quite an experience as an actor since she started from a young age, she has seen several situations happening on the set. She opened up about one such awkward situation as she saw her Les Miserables co-star on his worst behavior.
Anne Hathaway Felt Something Was Wrong With Hugh Jackman
The duo had worked together in the 2012 film, Les Miserables which was a critically successful movie grossing over $442 million worldwide. The film was nominated for 8 Academy Awards and won three including the Best Actress Award which was bagged by Anne Hathaway.
Even, Hugh Jackman who starred opposite the former also got nominated for his first Oscar nomination in the Best Actor category. The duo has worked extremely hard on their project which she shared while presenting him with an honor at the Hollywood Film Awards in 2018.
“We had been at it for hours and were long past the point of exhaustion, in that particular place only Tom Hooper or childbirth can get you.”
The harsh filming conditions affected them a lot as the actress recalled that the actor was not in his best condition once.
When they got a break from shooting, the actress noticed some change in the actor as he looked “stormy” and gave a “thousand-mile stare.” She knew that she had to ask him if he was doing fine or not, and the response he gave to her left quite an impression on her.
Anne Hathaway Got Candid About Hugh Jackman’s Behavior on Les Miserables Set
The Devil Wears Prada actress got concerned about her co-star and asked him, “Are you okay man?” She recalled his condition as she shared,
“Hugh drew in a ragged, powerful breath, locked his gaze on mine and said through gritted teeth, ‘Annie, it’s a lot.’ “
She eventually saw the “nicest guy in Hollywood” losing his “sh-t.” She further added,
“That’s it, that’s the worst behavior I have seen from Hugh Jackman.”
She commented that the “lowest” she ever heard him stating something was the statement, “It’s a lot.” The duo’s chemistry was widely acclaimed in the film. Meanwhile, Jackman is going to reprise his role as Wolverine in the upcoming Deadpool 3 film which is going to release on November 8. 2024.
