Talking about her split as well as how sad the Katie-Tom split news made her, the then-42-year-old actress said,
“I’m sad for them. They’re both really lovely people and just like Marc and I, it’s not what you want to happen. You fight and you try until you realize you can’t anymore.”
Continuing, Lopez expressed her concern about Cruise and Holmes’ daughter, Suri Cruise, who was primarily in the custody of Holmes. She felt that the most important thing for the split couple was to focus on their daughter and ensure that their personal relations do not affect Suri’s life in any way.

She explained how she could not stop herself from comparing her own situation with Cruise’s and even wished the duo ‘peace in their decision’. She said,
“I just wish them peace in their decision. And really for Suri and their other children as well, because you become such a family – it’s not just Suri, it’s Connor and Isabella and everybody. You all become a family. And when that breaks apart, nobody wins; everybody’s heartbroken in some way. And I just wish them peace.”
Jennifer Lopez got married to Marc Anthony in the year 2004, nearly a year after she started dating him. The then-couple had twins together, Maximilian and Emme. After almost 8 years of being together, Lopez and Anthony decided to finally split in 2011.
