But this wasn’t always the case with the adorable companions as Renner wasn’t ‘too friendly’ with Olsen in their first meeting, although his sage advice did end up saving the actress’s job afterward, helping her make a whopping fortune from one of the darkest Avengers movies to be made to date, Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015).

Though Elizabeth Olsen had already made her debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Wanda Maximoff, one of the two super-powerful Maximoff twins, in a cameo in the post-credit scenes of Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), she wasn’t so sure when she finally joined the team for Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015). And Jeremy Renner wound up accidentally making it worse.

Revealing in an interview much later in 2017 about how she was ‘intimidated’ by her Hawkeye co-star who was already a part of the franchise way before her, she said,

“I was intimidated by him [Jeremy Renner] because of his dryness and because he doesn’t sugarcoat things,” she said. “He’s not overly friendly.”

Anxious and feeling out of place, she started second-guessing her place among the famous team of superheroes.

“My character had these powers I was trying to figure out for the first time,” Olsen said. “And I was like, ‘What the hell am I doing here?’”

But as it turned out, it was none other than Renner who ended up saving her, stopping her from doubting her place in Avengers.

Nervous and in a daze, honestly frightened she might wound up ruining everything instead of giving her best performance, Elizabeth Olsen was left to turn to the very person who initially intimidated her, AKA Hawkeye portrayer, Jeremy Renner, for help.

“I asked him, ‘This is really overwhelming — what do you even focus on?’ And he started talking about his character’s family, and how that roots him into something tangible,” she recalled. “That’s exactly what you should be doing, and I should have already known that before starting: that you need to find something tangible in these moments of chaos.”

Thanks to his wise advice that she remembers to date, Olsen portrayed the character of the Scarlet Witch so finely that it ended up saving her job in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and helped her make a whopping fortune of $11 million in Hollywood in the years following!
