Zendaya is regarded as one of the most helpful actresses in Hollywood. The Euphoria actress is known for supporting other actors behind the scenes. So when she was getting blamed for Law Roach’s sudden retirement, it took the celebrity stylist by surprise. There were allegations of the two falling out and the internet went on to conclude that the Marvel actress was responsible for doing something that made Roach retire. Now, the American designer has come and clarified what actually happened between him and Zendaya.
Law Roach Speaks Out On The Viral Video With Zendaya
A video of Law Roach and Zendaya is doing the rounds of the internet. In the clip, the Marvel star can be seen with the American stylist at a Louis Vuitton fashion show in Paris and it looks like the two of them are arguing. In the video, Zendaya is sitting on the front row’s last seat right next to Emma Stone and then she points Roach to the seat behind her. However, as per the designer, the clip has been misinterpreted. He explained in the High Low podcast with Emily Ratajkowski that both of them were late for the show due to traffic and when they finally got to the event, it was chaotic.
He was also surprised because there wasn’t a seat for him next to his friend, Zendaya. However, he revealed that’s because the show had a sort of first-come-first-serve way of seating. Roach said:
“They’ll just sit you wherever they can find you a seat, but I had a seat, and the seat that she pointed to, that was Darnell’s — which is her assistant — that was his seat. We were both actually standing there, and so she was like, ‘Darnell, that’s your seat.’ And then they came and was like ‘Law, you need to sit.’ I was like, ‘Well, you need to tell me where I’m sitting'”
Roach also explained that Zendaya had no hand in his retirement and in fact, she found out about him retiring from the same Instagram post that the general public did. The stylist lamented the fact that his friend was harassed online for something she had no hand in.
Law Roach Defends Zendaya
On the High Low podcast, Law Roach explained that the internet was unnecessarily cruel to Zendaya and it hurt him because she has always helped him in the industry. He said:
“People started to blame her for my retirement, and that wasn’t fair to her. The things they were saying, of course aren’t true. So, then it spilled over to my suffering. She started to suffer too. And I didn’t think that was fair because she has always protected me in this industry and vice versa”
Roach even said that Zendaya was immensely supportive when she found out about his retirement. As per the celebrity stylist:
“She called, and she said, ‘Girl, I thought we make big decisions together. Of course, she supported me. She’s like, ‘Do you need me to send you on a vacation?’ Like tell me what you’re going through, and I talked to her about just being unhappy and being unhappy for a really long time and still grieving the death of my nephew. So, we had that talk, and she was like, ‘Whatever you need, whatever you need.'”
Zendaya is currently preparing for the release of the Dune sequel amidst rumors that her relationship with boyfriend Tom Holland is getting serious as the couple was spotted skipping the Oscars to spend time in the UK with Holland’s parents.
