Batman star Christian Bale is not someone who could easily hide from the public eye. He is a talented and dedicated actor. He does not shy away from trying new and extreme things just to make sure he fits in a role perfectly. No matter what kind of a role it may be, he will do his absolute best to perfect it. His range in movies and the way he physically transforms himself to fit those roles in the most exceptional manner.
When it comes to risk-taking, the actor will go on diets to ensure he loses and gains weight as the roles require him to. From Batman to Patrick Bateman, he will work hard no matter what. His method acting is known throughout the industry. However, some risks that he took shook a lot of people around him.
Christian Bale Stood Atop The Sears Tower As Batman
There are many actors who do their own stunts from time to time and Christian Bale is no different. He has done an incredible amount of movies and in those films, he tried to bring as many natural elements as possible, including doing his own stunts. One particular stunt did not have him doing much, but that was risk-taking on its own.
“How often do you get a chance to do that in a Batman costume looking out on Chicago? One hundred and ten stories up looking over the edge straight down on the street? I’m not letting anybody else do that. I’ll tell you, the thing that was kind of disturbing but enjoyable was how comfortable I felt.”
Bale had to stand on top of the Sears Tower in Chicago, where he could look at the entire city. There was not any particular action in the sequence. He was just in his Batsuit, looking down at the city. However, he was standing on the edge of the building, that too one hundred and ten floors above ground.
Christian Bale Does Not Want To Do His Own Stunts As He Grows Older
Although Christian Bale loves to do his own stunts, that is not something he sees as a long-term investment. The more he grows older, the more he wants to detach himself from doing his own stunts. When earlier he had no fear of falling, now there is a fear of whether he can get up or not.
“I don’t want to be doing that sort of thing when I’m in my sixties. I used to love going on my dirt bike and I loved falling off it. Loved crashing. It was so much fun, coming back with blood pouring off your arm. Now, I’m like, ‘God, please. I can’t come off here now, because I know I might never get back up again.'”
Bale understands that mortality is inevitable and as age progresses, so will his body. So he is not very keen on pushing himself past his limits to the extent that he will forever regret it.
