Having Intimate Scenes With Jennifer Aniston Seemed Like Torture To Jake Gyllenhaal

Having intimate scenes with the co-star in front of the camera is significantly awkward as actors must perform choreographed movements in front of the whole crew that will make it look real. It even gets more intense when the actor must carry out the intimate scenes with one of the co-stars on whom the actor has a crush, you heard it right Jake Gyllenhaal had a crush on Jennifer Aniston in the 2000s.

In a recent interview with The Howard Stern Show, The Marvel star agreed to the fact that shooting intimate scenes with one of his crushes Jennifer Aniston “was torture” and he further added that. “But it was also not torture. I mean, come on, it was like a mix of both.” 

Speaking on how tough it became to shoot the Intimate scenes with Jennifer Aniston, the 42-year-old Hollywood actor even added.

“Weirdly, love scenes are awkward, because there are maybe 30, 50 people watching it? Maybe if you have a closed set, it’s less? That doesn’t turn me on.”

He even stated that getting intimate on camera was “oddly mechanical” further saying,

“It’s a dance, you’re choreographing for a camera. You can get in it, but it’s like a fight scene, you have to choreograph those scenes.”

Jake Gyllenhaal And Jennifer Aniston Agreed On A Certain Technique To Make The Scenes Comfortable

Despite such an awkward and uncomfortable situation, Jake Gyllenhaal was all praise of the 54-year-old Friends star. The Love and Other Drugs actor said the Friends star was extremely cooperative and she suggested using the “pillow technique” by placing a pillow between them while conducting the scenes.

While saying this, the Zodiac actor did say.

“The pillow technique was used. That was just preemptive and used generally always when actually in a horizontal place in that movie. I think that was actually a Jennifer suggestion, she was very kind to suggest it before we began. She was like, “I’m putting a pillow here.”

It is no surprise that they both were actors and there is no denying the fact that intimate scenes like this do get awkward. However, the fans of Jake Gyllenhaal were in all praise of him for being so honest and the interview did a lot of revelation that the viewers liked.
