Dwayne Johnson and John Cena have had a long ongoing feud that trails back to their days in the WWE. This feud became the center of attention for many wrestling fans, making them both on top of the charts. Their fights too were no less in viewership. This feud only grew up until both actors were unanimously stepping into the Hollywood industry.
Once Cena saw himself following in Johnson’s footsteps, he knew that the feud would take him nowhere. Both of them are massively successful actors now with both playing parts in the DC Universe as well as the Fast and the Furious franchise. This made it the perfect opportunity for the actor to take advice from The Rock and make it his life motto.
John Cena Took Inspiration From Dwayne Johnson
John Cena addressed his feud with Dwayne Johnson and how the long-running war had benefitted their careers as wrestlers. It had brought them massive fame and even managed to break the WWE pay-per-view records. It had become the highlight of their WWE careers and they had trash-talked each other for over a year. This feud was then taken to the ring where they fought each other heartily.
“Basically we were able to set aside our differences that night and in the next year I began to get more chances at opportunities.” Cena added, “I was really nervous and I’m like, ‘I should really talk to the one guy who’s in a lot of movies.’ And Dwayne just happened to be at WWE.”
Their history may not have been the kindest but, both knew that if they were going to make it into the Hollywood industry, the discourse was not going to help them at all. After the fight, they immediately became friends. They would often talk to each other and even would refer to each other as their best friend.
Dwayne Johnson Gave John Cena Life-Changing Advice
When Cena met with Johnson after a long time, he knew he had to ask the wrestler-turned-actor for advice. If there was anyone who could guide him better in his journey within the Hollywood industry, it would be the Jumanji star himself. The advice that Cena got was so vivid and impactful that he knew not to question it.
“He gave me a piece of advice that still rings in my ears like he said it yesterday. I don’t even know if he knows that this was such sage advice,” He told. “He was like, ‘just be yourself, man. That’s why they asked you there in the first place.'”
This advice became life-changing for Cena and he knew that if this was followed throughout his career, he would not be facing problems.
“Thank you,The Rock.”
He follows it even now and the two have never been closer.
