Arnold Schwarzenegger has been among the top-rated actors in Hollywood ever since his career’s inception. Landing roles in superhit movies and TV shows, the 75-year-old actor has won much fame and acclamation throughout the years. Renowned for his amazing work in movies like The Terminator series, Schwarzenegger has made his position firm in the movie industry with even his peers respecting him for his brilliant works.
With The Terminator series being among the best movies the actor has starred in, fans might think of the movie as Arnold Schwarzenegger’s favorite movie. However, fans will be shocked to know that the action hero’s favorite movie is not The Terminator but rather Kindergarten Cop.
Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Favorite Movie is Kindergarten Cop
Also referred to as ‘Action God’ by fans, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s terrific acting and fighting skills leave even his critics in awe. Judging how his true aura comes to life in The Terminator movie series, one might think of the movie as the 75-year-old actor’s favorite. But the Golden Globe winner has a different story to tell.
From the wide range of movies he got to choose from, Arnold Schwarzenegger specifically chose the action-comedy, Kindergarten Cop. Explaining his reasoning behind this decision, the actor claimed that the idea of changing into comedic roles was more appealing to him than starring in action-thrillers like The Terminator.
Further elucidating his point, Arnold Schwarzenegger also mentioned how he had much fun working with youngsters in the $202M worldwide grossing movie. The actor loved filming the movie so much that he even decided to have an online reunion with some of the kids from the sets of Kindergarten Cop recently.
Kindergarten Cop Earned 7x its Budget at the Box Office
Compared to his other movies, Arnold Schwarzenegger played a slightly different role in his much-loved movie, Kindergarten Cop. Portraying the character of Detective John Kimble, an undercover agent working as a kindergarten teacher, the action hero didn’t fail to win his fans’ hearts.
However, since this movie doesn’t have many action-thriller and fighting scenes in the movie unlike The Terminator movie series, it appealed to the audience slightly less than Arnold Schwarzenegger’s other films, also severing the movie’s ratings a bit.
But even though Kindergarten Cop didn’t get as much acclamation as The Terminator, the movie still ended up making nearly 7 times its budget. With its production budget being $26M, the action-comedy managed to gross $202M worldwide, which might also be a reason behind Arnold Schwarzenegger’s peculiar ‘favorite movie’ choice.
You can watch Kindergarten Cop on Netflix.
