With the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has begun, and it has introduced Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror who will be the antagonist for phases 5 and 6 of the MCU. It will end with Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, where the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will take on Kang or the Council of Kangs.
Since Avengers movies are full of great cameos and crossovers, there will be a number of superheroes making an appearance in the movie; and one of those characters is Tenoch Huerta’s Namor. The Talokan Leader was the center of attraction in Black Panther 2 and he was well-praised and loved by fans and critics alike. And the writer of Avengers 5 confirms that Namor will be in the movie.
Jeff Loveness Hints Namor will be in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty
During an interview with ComicBook, Jeff Loveness, who is writing the script of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, talked about the upcoming film that the MCU fans are so excited to watch. Everyone is wondering about the superheroes who will be featured in the movie.
According to Loveness, Namor from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be joining hands with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, as he is “excited”, hinting that the character will be a part of the movie.
“Namor, man. I’m excited to write Namor.”
Even though Jeff Loveness has not stated Namor’s role in the upcoming Avengers film, there’s a high possibility that the Talokan Leader would play a major role in the film because the anti-hero character was loved in Black Panther 2 and it would be intriguing to see how the character would interact with the Avengers.
However, at the end of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Namor still had antagonistic views of the people of the surface world and wanted nothing to do with them. Since Avengers: The Kang Dynasty will release in 2025, the buildup would be worth watching, and there can be a probability that there might be a standalone film or a series showing that Tenoch Huerta’s Namor has been contacted to aid the Avengers in fighting against Kang.
What Do We Know About Avengers: The Kang Dynasty?
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty will be written by Jeff Loveness, and it will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the director of Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings. Currently, the film is set to hit the theatres in 2025, which would be followed by the release of Fantastic Four and will likely be the final setup for phase 5’s Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
Even though the writer confirmed that the Talokan Leader will be in the film, other characters have not been revealed, and Loveness himself is unsure of what stage he is in for the script of Avengers 5, but both Cretton and he are excited about the story.
“It’s hard to even say. I think I’m in the jet-lag stage of a press tour, but we’re working on it. Destin [Daniel Cretton] is incredible. I’ve had conversations with Jonathan about where he wants to take the character, so it’s still very early days. We’ve got like 40 more movies to go before I get there, but we’ve certainly got a plan. We’re all very excited for the story that we’re laying down, so now it’s just on me and my ADHD and my procrastination and all that. So, hopefully, Kevin doesn’t read this. If he is, hey, Kevin. I’m doing great. The pages are just flowing, man. (Laughs.) It’ll be there next week.”
Since phase 5 is in progress, we hope that Jeff Loveness updates the fans about his plans and the line-up for the film throughout the year.
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty will release in theatres on 2nd May 2025.
