Like every Christopher Nolan movie Oppenheimer has set the bar so high that every cinemagoer is expecting a big bang. Oppenheimer has remained on top of the most anticipated movie releases of the summer.
Starring Cillian Murphy in the lead role after two decades of working with the director and other star-studded casts Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, Josh Hartnett, Casey Affleck, Rami Malek, and Kenneth Branagh, the movie is set to dominate at the box office.

Christopher Nolan Thinks Robert Downey Jr. is Difficult To Work With
Robert Downey Jr. is collaborating with Christopher Nolan for the first time and he thinks the Iron Man actor is difficult to work with. Following back to one of the darkest chapters of the history of violence, Oppenheimer is set during World War II in which the Iron Man actor played Lewis Strauss, a major figure in the development of nuclear weapons and a naval officer who served two terms on the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission (AEC). Appearing in Wired Autocomplete Interview, the duo went on to answer the web’s most searched questions. When asked about who the Iron Man actor played in the latest Nolan movie, Downey Jr. answered fondly:
“Lewis Lichtenstein Strauss. He was the head of the Atomic Energy Commission. He was a very, uh, conservative patriotic American he and Oppenheimer were verging on Nemesis”
To that, Nolan said, “Complicated man” and the Avengers actor jumped in saying, “he was a complicated man, unlike me.” But Nolan joked, “Exactly, it takes one to play one” indicating the fact that Downey Jr. can be difficult to work with. The actual nature of the fact is still in the dark and one can only assume that Nolan’s joke has traces of truth in it.
Where Does Christopher Nolan Get His Ideas?
Nolan’s ideas are worth millions and it is a million-dollar question to ask from where does the director get his astonishing movie ideas? Essentially, Nolan’s ideas do not move in a straight line, he is a time player and whatnot. But for Oppenheimer, the source of inspiration for the film traced back to one ’80s song, Russians by Sting from the album The Dream of the Blue Turtles. “All over the place different on every film,” Nolan said of his inspiration.
“Oppenheimer, somebody had been interested in a long time didn’t know that much about the specifics of his story then came to the book American Prometheus and that absolutely got me hooked. So, in the case of Oppenheimer, the idea, I mean, gosh I trace it right back to like you know as a kid in the ’80s and we all thought we were going to die in nuclear Armageddon absolutely you remember Sting had that song Russians? Russians Oppenheimer’s deadly toys?”
Nolan’s cinematic ideas are extremely engrossing as it defies the standard bar set in the moviemaking business. Also, the director is known for his unique blend of commercial success and the aesthetic depth of his stories and he is bringing one of the most important historical events in history to screen with his new film.
