The film industry has seen several actors fall in love while shooting a movie. Some are comfortable with the intimacy they share onscreen. While few are not a fan of the moments they share with their co-star. One such actor is Orlando Bloom. He has risen to fame while playing Will Turner in the Pirates of the Caribbean movie franchise.
Bloom worked with Zoe Saldana twice. Once they shared the screen in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, and later in the gritty thriller Haven. The Hollywood industry is sometimes difficult, and the chemistry actors share on-screen is not the same as off-camera. Bloom and Saldana were not fans of working together as they both shared their experience while shooting intimate scenes.
Orlando Bloom hated kissing Zoe Saldana during Haven
Orlando Bloom and Zoe Saldana starred in the 2004 gritty thriller Haven. The actors enjoyed working together during the film, but they missed sharing the awkward part. Saldana was the first to comment on her experience of kissing Bloom. She referred to the kiss as “Gross.”
The Pirates of the Caribbean actor didn’t hold back to reply on the comment. He while speaking to people in 2006 said, “I hated kissing Zoe too! I was like, Take your tongue out of my mouth, please. Your boyfriend is standing right there.”
Many have an illusion that actors enjoy kissing each other, the 46-year-old actor described it to be awkward. He said, “Most people think kissing beautiful costars must be great. But it’s always awkward, man.”
Given that Haven was released in 2004, The Lord of the Rings actor was most likely referring to Saldana’s ex-boyfriend Keith Britton, a NASA project manager. She split up with him in 2011 after 11 years of dating. Despite the uneasiness, the actors appeared to enjoy the actual filming.
What is the story of Haven?
Bloom starred alongside From Scratch star and Bill Paxton in the 2004 criminal drama Haven. The movie directed by Frank E. Flowers, followed Carl Ridley, a wealthy and dishonest businessman, and his daughter as they escaped the United States for the Cayman Islands.
Carl’s voyage, he unwittingly becomes engaged in the lives of several different people, including Boom’s character Shy, who is in a passionate relationship with Andrea (Saldana), the boss’s daughter. Naturally, once Andrea’s brother learns, things for Shy get rather hazardous and complicated.
Although the movie was a success and the actors shared amazing chemistry on-screen, their personal experience was not that great, and they have put these things past them and strived in their careers.
