Even though Sony might be struggling to craft their live-action cinematic universe revolving around Spider-Man, they certainly haven’t failed to deliver through the medium of animation. Following the new trailer for their highly anticipated sequel to one of the best Spider-Man movies, it seems that actors, including Tom Holland and Sydney Sweeney, are set to mark an appearance in the sequel.
Although Holland’s appearance in the movie seems a little more feasible. But following Sweeney’s recent Instagram story and considering her future in Sony’s Cinematic Universe, her cameo in the movie doesn’t appear that far-fetched.

Sydney Sweeney hints about her inclusion in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
Following the release of the new trailer for the highly anticipated sequel, it didn’t fail to leave all fans in awe with its brilliance and elevated the hype surrounding the movie. But another interesting factor took place in the Euphoria Star’s Instagram when she shared the trailer through her story, which led many fans to believe that the actress might be in the movie.
Even though on paper it sounds a little off but considering that Sydney Sweeney is reportedly playing the role of Spider-Woman in Sony’s upcoming Madame Web. It seems possible that Sony might try to present one of their upcoming heroes in one of their biggest movies to create some buzz around her character.
However, Sweeney isn’t the only star who is being speculated to make an appearance in the upcoming sequel. As it seems that MCU’s Spider-Man might also appear in the sequel.

Tom Holland reportedly making an appearance in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
One of the biggest surprises in the new trailer of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was when Spider-Man 2099 references the actions of MCU’s Doctor Strange and Parker that have affected the entire multiverse. Even though he refers to it as Earth-199999 and MCU has been previously referred to as Earth-616 on multiple occasions, that hasn’t taken away from the hype around the movie.
Considering that Jeff Sneider has previously claimed that Tom Holland is reportedly making an appearance in the upcoming movie. The reference to the actions of MCU’s Spider-Man might be just Sony’s way of teasing the fans and hyping them up for the actor’s eventual entrance in the movie.

Although the speculation surrounding Sydney Sweeney’s cameo as Spider-Woman is uncertain for now, as there is no substantial weight behind these claims. But Holland’s cameo in the sequel seems much more possible, as the trailer has already confirmed his existence in the multiverse.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is set to hit theatres on 2 June 2023.
