In the movie, her character warns Earth of a deadly comet that would drastically affect the planet. In one segment, Dibiasky was seen smoking marijuana to calm her nerves after informing the world about the news. Film director, Adam McKay mentioned how she was even ready to get the full method for the particular sequence.

In an interview with Yahoo Entertainment, McKay recalled that she asked permission to smoke up before filming the scene. The actress clarified,

“Because my character was getting high in the movie.”

He shared,

“So Jen was like, ‘Are you gonna throw me some improv?,’ which we always do. And I was like, ‘No, you can get high.'”

While her bold step in her scene was commendable, it did come at quite a price.

While the actress maintained her composure to deliver the perfect shot as she wanted, her bold step led her to become the target of light teasing by her co-stars. In the interview, she mentioned,

“I was a real target,” she said. “Everyone was f—ing with me… I guess because I was high. Easy to f— with.”

Even the film director was ready to participate in pranking Lawrence. He recalled,

“I kept turning to my script supervisor, Cate Hardman, and was like, ‘I just want to say, “Hey Jen. I think I have a monologue idea for you.”‘

However, he pulled out the idea as he knew it would not be right.

“And I would look at Jen and was like, ‘I can’t do it. It would be too mean.’ So I left you alone.”
