Action was always part of Tom Cruise’s life right from when he was very young. In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel on his show, the Mission Impossible star went down memory lane and spoke about his obsession to master different action techniques using unconventional methods.

Tom Cruise Used Creative Techniques To Learn Action

Tom Cruise in his interview with talk show host Jimmy Kimmel, spoke about his latest film in the Mission Impossible franchise, Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One which is due to release in July 2023. The much awaited film has gained even more hype after BTS footage that showed Cruise indulging in death-defying stunts on a motorbike. Recalling his obsession with action from a very young age, Cruise spoke of unconventional methods that he used to create and conquer stunts.

“Even as a little kid, like, I used to steal lumber from a junkyard or, you know. And then I’d ride down the hill as fast as I could and hit the ramp and go over garbage cans. You know, I tried to do that when I was a kid. It didn’t work.”

Cruise went on to add that his techniques used to land him in the hospital with bruises many times during his childhood and stated that these setbacks actually made him persevere even more in his efforts.

Mission Impossible 7 Is Already Breaking Records

Tom Cruise is all set to reprise his iconic character Ethan Hunt in the 7th installment of the Mission Impossible film series. Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One is already garnering a lot of hype for Cruise’s death-defying stunts which the actor has reportedly taken to a whole new level from the initial trailer sequences.

But even before its release, the film has already broken a record. Mission Impossible 7 will be the longest film in Tom Cruise’s globe-trotting franchise. The first of the two-part series will clock in at 2 hours and 36 minutes without credits, beating Mission Impossible: Fallout which had a running time of 2 hours and 27 minutes. While there have been doubts about the length of the movie with regard to how audiences will receive it, it is also possible that Mission Impossible buffs and Tom Cruise fans will stay invested owing to Cruise’s magnetic aura and the reputation of the franchise.

Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One will release worldwide on July 12th, 2023.
