Streamer Beats Elden Ring with a Saxophone AND it was a ‘No Hit’ Run

Elden Ring, FromSoftware’s highly popular action RPG, has been considered a challenging title among many gamers. If you have ever felt like the game was extremely difficult, prepare to feel even worse about yourself as a gamer, in knowing that one twitch streamer completed the game, using only an electric saxophone.

That’s right, Twitch user DrDeComposing used only an electric saxophone as a controller and completed Elden Ring in under 2 1/2 hours. Not only did he complete the challenging run with a musical instrument, he also took no-hits and never died. This is compared to his previous record with the electric saxophone, where he also never died and only took one hit. The instrument he uses for his twitch streams is a Roland AE-10 aerophone, and it is not out of the ordinary for him to use it as his primary controller. This kind of challenge is just part of gaming for the streamer, as his entire channel is dedicated to playing hard games with the digital wind instrument.

In fact, he has beaten games, like Bloodborne, Demon Souls, Dark Souls, and more, which are considered extremely challenging. He is also prone to starting with level one character builds or playing out permanent death style scenarios. If you’re interested in watching him complete Elden Ring with the saxophone, the streamer has posted a video showing his last minute of gameplay via Twitter/X. The post says the following:

“Last night, I beat Elden Ring (any%) without taking a single hit while using an electric saxophone as a game controller; the World’s First No-Hit Run of Elden Ring using a non-traditional controller (e.g. dance pad, Guitar Hero controller, etc).

THE HITLESS DOOT RUN IS COMPLETE!”

As previously mentioned, Elden Ring is considered to be very difficult among gamers. If you are unfamiliar with the title, when it was released by FromSoftware in 2022, it quickly became a massive success. Players compared the gameplay to other very challenging gaming franchises such as, Dark Souls. George R.R. Martin of Game of Thrones fame also helped create the fantasy world, and the title was directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki.

Elden Ring requires players to create a custom character and experience the story through the eyes of their own protagonist. The gameplay uses a variety of armors, weapons, and magic, that make each playthrough somewhat unique to the individual. It was published by Bandai Namco Entertainment and can be played on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Some have considered Elden Ring to be FromSoftware’s most difficult game. Given the fact the developer has brought gamers all of the Dark Souls and Demon Souls titles, this is quite a controvertial opinion. Nevertheless, the title still gets attention for being so challenging, with even some critics expressing their frustration over not having an easy mode. This is why beating Elden Ring with nothing more than a digital saxophone is no small task, and an incredible achievement. It is something that will certainly be marked in gaming history.
