Bella Ramsey has surely been making headlines these days for delivering the critically acclaimed TV series, The Last of Us. The series has surely been great in its run with overwhelming support and praise from the viewer base. The fans are eagerly waiting for its second season. The praise Ramsey received from The Last of Us is surely impressive. But one can surely not forget her breakthrough role as Lyanna Mormont in the epic HBO series, Game of Thrones. Ramsey recently shared that she doesn’t like to watch her previous performances, including her hit role in Game of Thrones.
Bella Ramsey Hates To See Her Past Performances
The Worst Witch actress has impressed many with her past performances. Despite delivering major hits, the non-binary star does not like to watch them. In an interview, Ramsey stated her reasons to support her preference of not watching her previous performances.
“What I do mind is watching myself and then realizing that everyone else is seeing it, too. That’s when it’s weird. I liken it to looking back at your Instagram posts and captions when you’re 18. You’re not that person anymore. You’re not posting inspirational quotes anymore.”
Adding on to that, The Last of Us star stated that she can’t possibly watch her performance in Game of Thrones. Not only that, she even stops her mom from playing Game of Thrones at home. Bella Ramsey stated she was inexperienced during the times of Game of Thrones, but despite this, the audience loved her role of Lyanna Mormont.
“I can’t do it anymore. Sometimes my mom will just pull it up and watch it and I’m like, “Stop it. Cut it out.” Yeah. No, that’s not fun. I used to be a lot worse with it. I really used to not be able to stand it. But now I think enough time has passed. That was eight years ago now for me. I feel like I’m officially entering middle age.”
Bella Ramsey On Dealing with Negativity
The GoT star has surely improved her acting, it is one of the prime reasons why the series The Last of Us has impressed the audience across the globe. Yet, success and fame come hand in hand with hate and criticism. Ramsey shares her perspective on dealing with the recent hate comments.
“When I first got announced as Ellie. That’s when it was the most [intense], and I’d never really experienced any negative reaction before. It was present the whole way through, but it died down after the initial outcry. Now [that] the show has come out. I’ve stopped looking for the negative things. That’s what’s changed—I’ve stopped looking. I made this oath with Craig Mazin that we wouldn’t look at the bad stuff. If I’m scrolling and I see something bad, I won’t scroll. I’ll just be like, “Scroll past. I don’t need to digest that. You don’t have to hate on yourself, Bella.” I’ve learned to manage it just by not engaging with it.”
It looks like Ramsey has defined her strategies for dealing with the internet’s hate. At the same time, it is shocking that despite delivering popular and hit roles, the non-binary star is not able to stand her past performances.
