Being the PR Director for Starfield is no ordinary job, considering they hold the keys to one of this year’s most eagerly awaited games. But what adds a unique twist to this demanding role is the occasional request from certain publications for PS5 codes, despite the game being one of Microsoft’s most significant exclusives to date.
Mixed Reactions to Starfield Early Access
Starfield features iconic vistas and space exploration.Being the PR Director for Starfield is no ordinary job, considering they hold the keys to one of this year’s most eagerly awaited games. But what adds a unique twist to this demanding role is the occasional request from certain publications for PS5 codes, despite the game being one of Microsoft’s most significant exclusives to date.
Starfield’s early access phase has made a grand entrance, but player reactions are noticeably divided. While a portion of the gaming community is thoroughly enjoying the opportunity to craft their sci-fi starship dreams, others are expressing some frustration due to the game’s somewhat slow start.
Critics weigh in on Starfield’s imperfections, with some arguing that these issues may have contributed to the initially controversial ratings it received from various publications. The pre-release excitement surrounding the game took a bit of a hit when viral leaks surfaced, seemingly as a result of easy access to review codes.
Now, here’s the twist – it turns out that some PS5 users are still inquiring about the possibility of obtaining early access codes for Starfield. In a humorous twist, Matt Frary, Bethesda’s Senior Director of PR, shared in a tweet that media outlets had reached out to request Starfield PS5 codes, even though the game is exclusively available on Xbox and PC.
To provide a bit of context, it’s vital to clarify that Starfield will not, in any way, be available on PlayStation consoles, and there’s no indication that it will ever be. Frary reiterated this fact in a tweet related to his experience managing the game’s launch.
In his post, Frary extended his appreciation for those reviewers who earnestly requested PS5 codes, emphasizing that their requests were made sincerely. While he may not have directly responded to these inquiries, they certainly brought some humor to his day.
Starfield’s status as an exclusive for Xbox and PC has fueled spirited debates amid the ongoing console wars. Frary’s tweet prompted discussions in the comments section, leading him to clarify his statement.
He emphasized that his comment wasn’t intended as a dig at console preferences but rather a playful jab at contacts who didn’t thoroughly review their requests. It appears that certain publications may have overlooked double-checking their email templates, leading to these amusing misunderstandings.
If you’re an Xbox user eagerly anticipating the release of Starfield there are ways to get access. One clever trick is to save money by using Game Pass. However it’s important to remember that this exclusive game won’t be available, on PS5 screens no matter how many requests are made
PlayStation Fans Really Want to Play Starfield
During all the gaming comedy it’s worth mentioning that Starfield’s exclusivity goes beyond being available, on PS5. Finally after anticipation the awaited sci fi RPG Starfield was released on November 11 2022 and it received critical acclaim. However not everyone had the opportunity to experience the game since it can only be played on Xbox consoles and PC.
A few PlayStation fans turned to media and requested PlayStation keys for the game. Interestingly Bethesda developers found humor in this situation.

On Twitter the official Starfield account shared a screenshot of a message from a fan who asked for a PlayStation key. The message stated, “I know Starfield is only available on Xbox and PC but I was wondering if there’s any chance of getting a PlayStation key? I really want to play it but don’t have an Xbox.”
In response to this message the Starfield account simply replied with a GIF of someone shrugging their shoulders. This tweet quickly gained popularity as many people found the interaction amusing. Some PlayStation fans even commented on the tweet expressing empathy, towards gamers who were unable to play Starfield.
The developers at Bethesda have not commented on whether or not they will ever release Starfield on PlayStation. However, the fact that they are able to see the funny side of the situation suggests that they are not taking the requests too seriously.
In the meantime, PlayStation fans will have to content themselves with watching gameplay videos or reading reviews of Starfield. However, with any luck, the game will eventually be ported to PlayStation consoles so that everyone can enjoy it.
