As the highly awaited launch of Starfield nears and builds anticipation, there have been a plethora of leaks surrounding the game. A leak regarding the skills has now surfaced and spoils players’ hopes of easily exploring space and being planet hunters.
Skills in Starfield have a major role to play in the gameplay as players will invest in a variety of skills from Skills Tree and it looks like players will have something more than just mere easy exploration on their hands.

New Leaks Reveal Major Details Regarding Skills in Starfield
According to the new Skills leak in Starfield, it will take skilled operators to search and locate planets and resources that are hard to find or to get details on the nearby ships. Players will unlock these abilities and their higher ranks by using skill points.
The skills leak include Scanning, Medicine, Robotics, and Concealment, and as players progress through the game, they will unlock 4 ranks or tiers. Earlier fans believed that exploration would be fairly easy but now it looks like they will need to rank up in particular skill sets to find new worlds.
Scanning skill set in Starfield
“While anyone can use a ship’s scanner, it takes a skilled operator to find hard-to-find planetary resources or uncover the details of nearby ships.”
- Rank 1: Players can detect uncommon inorganic resources on planet and moon surfaces and as more details about ships in space.
- Rank 2: Players will be able to detect rare inorganic resources on planet and moon surfaces and more details about ships in space.
- Rank 3: Players will be able to detect exotic inorganic resources on planet and moon surfaces, and they will also obtain better combat details on ships in space.
- Rank 4: Players will be able to detect unique inorganic resources on planet and moon surfaces, and will also get a complete cargo list on ships in space.
Medicine skill set in Starfield
“Through advancements in medical training and technology has humanity been able to withstand the galaxy’s many dangers.”
- Rank 1: Players will get Med Packs, Trauma Packs, and Emergency Kits to restore 10% additional Health 10% faster.
- Rank 2: Players will obtain Med Packs, Trauma Packs, and Emergency Kits to restore 20% additional Health 20% faster.
- Rank 3: Players will get Med Packs, Trauma Packs, and Emergency Kits to restore 30% additional Health 30% faster.
- Rank 4: Players will get Med Packs, Trauma Packs, and Emergency Kits to restore 50% additional Health 50% faster, and will also have an opportunity to cure an affliction.
Robotics skill set in Starfield
“In an age where robots and autonomous turrets are employed in a combat capacity, the study of robotics can be instrumental in gaining a tactical edge.”
- Rank 1: Players will deal 10% more damage to Robots and Turrets. Players can force a target robot up to 10 levels higher than them to stop fighting for a limited time.
- Rank 2: Players will deal 20% more damage to Robots and Turrets. They can force a target robot up to 10 levels higher than them to flee for a limited time.
- Rank 3: Players will deal 30% more damage to Robots and Turrets. Players can force a target robot up to 10 levels higher than them to attack their allies for a limited time.
- Rank 4: Players can force a target robot up to 10 levels higher than them to obey commands for a limited time.
Concealment skill set in Starfield
“Few skills capture the imagination like the ability to remain undetected, used by assassins, special forces operatives, and simple thieves alike for centuries.”
- Rank 1: Players will not be able to set off enemy mines. Ranged sneak attacks will do 2.5x normal damage and the melee sneak attacks will do 4x normal damage.
- Rank 2: Players running with sneaking will not affect stealth. Ranged sneak attacks will do 3x normal damage and our melee sneak attacks will do 5x normal damage.
- Rank 3: Players will obtain a Chameleon-like ability when they are completely still and sneaking. Ranged sneak attacks will do 3.5x normal damage and the melee sneak attacks will do 8x normal damage.
- Rank 4: Engaging stealth will cause enemies at a distance to lose players. Ranged sneak attacks will do 4x normal damage and the melee sneak attacks will do 10x normal damage.
Since players will have to rank up in particular skill sets to be able to achieve the highest ranks and find new worlds and resources, they will surely need to spend quite a bit of time in the game. Starfield is set to be released on September 6th for Xbox Series X|S and PC platforms.
