How to Travel Fast in Bethesda’s Epic Space Exploration Saga – Explained

Thanks to the fast travel option in Starfield, venturing around is quite effortless once players understand the mechanics behind fast traveling. Players can use this to travel to a place they previously visited throughout star systems. It saves a lot of time, too, considering the size of the game. However, the fast travel system is quite complicated at first. There are certain rules to keep in mind, and operating it involves lots of fiddling in the Starmap menu. However, for a shorter journey, Scanner can make things simpler.

Players can use fast travel to commute from one planet to another, or from a star system to another. However, there’s one rule for fast travel in Starfield. Players must have visited the place previously in order to unlock that place in their fast travel option. It can be accessed rather easily by players through the Starmap or the Scanner when they’re exploring on foot or flying around on their ship. In the early game, it is quite meticulous for a player to get the hang of this system.

Players can access fast-travel in Starfield easily by tapping “F” (“LB” on the controller) to open up their Hand Scanner. From there, navigate to the location they want to go to and tap “E” (“A” on the controller). Players can instantly fast travel to the place of their choice by this method. While traveling on the ship, fast travel works similarly.

Another simple way to use fast travel is through the Missions Menu. For this, the players must go to the Character menu and, from there, head towards the Missions Menu to make sure the mission they want to do is being actively tracked. After that, press “R” (or “X” on the controller) to “Set Course.” This will open the map on your screen and show the exact place you need to go to follow the mission. After that, fast traveling or landing in the place of your choice is just within the press of a button.

Players can use fast travel for traversing to distant star systems. They need to open the map from the Character Menu first. There would be a button in the bottom-right corner that players can use to zoom out from the planetary view to the system view and then to the star map. On the Starmap, there are all the systems available that the players unlocked previously. As long as the trajectory involves pre-explored star systems, fast travel would be available.
